  1. That's the second time this year, this week, in fact, uk is the windiest place on the planet. Sobering thought that, and Tuesday's forecast is worrying too...
  2. Half the fun on Sunday Evenings as November/December approaches is looking at the games in the NFL's outside stadiums for any snow on the Red Zone
  3. Happy New Year everyone, hope this year brings all the weather you wish for, but especially snow in winter and mahossive thunderstorms in summer
  4. Thanks for posting, really interesting, I've never heard of that before.
  5. Thanks for posting J10, that line from Helston to Truro then NE to Callington area vividly shows the effect a squall line can have . Hope everyone keeps safe tonight, just clearing Newton Abbot now, what a day.
  6. I think that our Cornish friends deserve to stand up and take a bow for wishing us further East good luck . Respect.
  7. Great way to start the year! Lovely part of the World. Glad its stopped raining- I've got to take down my runner bean poles from my allotment- not been able to get there since August!! Hopefully the ground will dry up a bit now. Interesting couple of weeks ahead now model wise if this SSW event materialises. If the cold does arrive, there could be problems with cliff falls and landslides with all the water seeping through rocks freezing.
  8. 18z GFS............ The run that lifts thousands out of fuel poverty
  9. I'm new to this really, but the Fax chart is a good example- it shows the DAM lines as dashes. In winter,lLook for the 546 as the mild air usually just in front of an area of low pressure then look (usually) northwards for the 528 (behind the cold front).
  10. Steady drizzle in Newton Abbot, temp 4.7, dead calm wind. Whilst dissapointed with today, some of the best charts I have ever seen modelled for mid week onwards and our neck of the woods looks right in line for the best of it. Happy Days :-)
  11. Snowing in Newton Abbot, virtually sea level. Smallish but dry flakes and beginning to settle. Under no illusions, though, probably turning to rain by 10am :-(
