  1. no surprise of the lack of posts in here, ECM says it all, it may not be a washout but things look mediocre, the brief plume barely touches us next week
  2. looks like it it really warms up later next week on the GFS, but i bet that low in the atlantic will soon shunt the warm air out of the way, anyway its FI http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20120801/12/192/ukmaxtemp.png till then more of the usual, sun and showers with average or slightly below average temps, boring
  3. thank god i mostly dodged the showers today as my crops wouldn't be able to take any more water, even after this weeks hot spell it is still very wet a few inches into the ground.
  4. i wish the polar vortex went to tenerife in winter anyway, GFS shows it getting warm in the east ;later next week lets hope that low don't end up shunting the warm air into holland
  5. im surprised no one has commented about the UKMO meteociel charts being faulty for days now, it keeps showing sundays 2 AM chart at T120 and showing intensely low heights in tenerife and north africa,
  6. Agree its all down to psychology, september is not that much cooler than june, but by sep the novelty of summer wares off as people are back at work and school so they think it should be getting cold and horrible just cos it gets darker a bit earlier, when in fact sep rarely feels cool to me as many days are about 18-19c the same as june in most years, same example for april and october, there is more chance of frost in april than october but as it gets dark earlier in oct people think october is colder
  7. Are you kidding me August is not autumn, in fact september rarely feels autumnal to me apart from the shorter daylight hours, we get a lot of days that are 18c to 20c, i think its your cold tinted glasses that wants summer to be over ASAP
  8. GFS 18z looks less cool, in fact by midweek it gets warm again, if this were winter we would be having a hissy fit on the downgrade of the northerly
  9. we do get something in between most of the time, cool, cloudy crap its tedious
  10. only 25.7c here today as cloud spoiled the sun and i didn't get the chance to sunbathe, still, it felt pleasant out there,
  11. partly cloudy here sun in and out, things look so much better when its clear blue sky, but 4 days in a row of wall to wall sunshine is too much to ask for i suppose
  12. How to farmers, gardeners grow crops like tomatoes and cucumbers etc up there in cumbria it is hard enough growing them down here, in fact this year it is unlikely i will get any toms due to the cool, dull wet summer so far, last week my allotment was flooded out but today it was roasting over there if i lived up there in cumbria i wouldn't bother with crops as i have no patience
  13. Well i can't remember as i have barely seen any strong August sun for years, we are overdue a good August now
