Heavy snow here until half hour ago c 3-4cm. Possibly rain according to the radar at lower altitudes. Temperatures increasing now.

Somebody's Boxing Day walk didn't quite go to plan. Make sure you are always dressed and equipped for the conditions when walking in the mountains.
-
We didn't get any snow here last night in the NW corner (the radar was showing snow South of Bala) but snow showers coming in now on a North Westerly off the Irish Sea.
-
Around 8:30 on my commute my car thermometer dipped to -12c. I was within a mile or so of RAF Cosford where observations seem to confirm this minimum.
-
Penetrating frost last night. Car thermometer dropped to -12 this morning just after dawn... by no means accurate but not far off as nearby Shawbury recorded -12.4
Light fog/mist over deep snow fields with sun trying to break through

Can anyone tell me what conditions are like in Telford?
Most main roads are OK.... cant comment on side roads but untreated ones are most likely still lethal.

We're snowed in. Track to the lane is a 200m long snow drift. Last time this happened was Jan 13.

That really is an amazing photograph, I have never seen anything quite like that in a photograph and certainly nothing approaching it in 70 years of watching the weather
Must have been a rare combination of the right temperature, atmospheric conditions and the suns angle.

Capel Curig topped 84mph now with other nearby stations showing 50/60 + gusts.
Almost as bad as Ophelia here and potentially longer lasting as it's been blowing a hoolie since the early hours..... and still is.

Already windier than the B storm in October here.
Yep...pretty bad here. Max gust at nearby Capel Curig was 79mph. It took my bins out again!

NW Snowdonia
After a night of very heavy rain. Really strong sustained wind now. Just had a massive gust.
Checked the Netweather MAX Gusts chart and yep, Capel Curig already top of the leaderboard at 61mph.
Mild here at 12°C and currently light(er) rain.

Great shots. Plenty of pix from across the country coming in on Twitter from lower latitudes such a Brecon Beacons and Anglesey.
I could only see a faint glow low on the Northern horizon here (S. Staffs).

These dangerous jellyfish have been reported on numerous beaches since storms Ophelia and Brian but found these small ones washed up on todays high tide at Morfa Bychan. (I believe they are Portuguese Man 'O War from seeing local photos.)
There were also plenty of the usual jellyfish regularly washed up as well.
Had to keep the dog away once spotted.
Sadly there was another casualty of the storm washed up as well. Apparently seal pup casualties have been very high during the storms.
Warning for viewing image: may upset some people.

NW Snowdonia:
After a very wet drizzly day with 14°C the brief dry spell late this afternoon has gone and rain has set back in. Very windy and increasingly gusty as well. Capel Curig currently reporting 48mph. ( I wouldn't be surprised to see that increase somewhat.)
-
Aberdaron, along with Capel Curig top the mainland wind gusts speeds again at 78 mph. Not as high as 90mph with Ophelia.
Heres at Aberdaron is why there were warnings out for tidal surges this morning..
