  1. Did anybody else really enjoy April 2021. It was very cold (CET 6.5) with many air frosts but also very sunny. My overriding memory of this month is being able to socialise outdoors in gardens and beer gardens again after Lockdown, which was fine in the sunny daytime but felt absolutely freezing sat outside at night! We had snow showers in the second weekend too. A much more enjoyable month than the mild wet dross we’re currently experiencing.
  2. It’s been the worst January - April I can remember weather wise. For this month to claim some sort of warmth record would be insane, it’s been dire!
  3. Ones that stick out for different reasons: Snow: - 1998, I was young but do remember making a snowman on Good Friday. - 2008 earliest Easter I can remember, very cold that year, it snowed on Good Friday night and also again on Easter Sunday. - 2013 was very very cold, no falling snow but there was a lot still on the ground from the previous few weeks -2018 snowed Easter Monday. 2021 I remember being cold too. Warmth: -2007 was warm over the weekend -2011 probably the warmest I can remember, felt like summer and we had thunderstorms on Easter Saturday -2017 & 2019 decent and warm as well as 2020 even though that lockdown period blends into one! I prefer Easter’s in April as you tend to get better weather, the longer days make a difference too.
  4. It was an astonishing period of weather, I’d been on holiday in Cyprus a few weeks earlier and those few days did actually feel hotter. As others have mentioned what I remember more than anything is how warm the wind was, proper Saharan heat. It got to 39.7c in the shaded area in my back garden and the most amazing thing about this spell is how many stations up and down the country smashed the previous all time record. Just a shame it ended with a whimper here with no storms!
  5. It was an incredibly surreal time that’s for sure, it did make that first lockdown bearable. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a tan in this country before or been fitter! Spent all my time cycling and then sunbathing. It seems like bliss looking back but the cloud of Covid constantly hanging over you was never far away. Still an amazing spell of weather and something I would love after the absolutely horrid winter and March we’ve had!
  6. Don I do remember snow on Easter Monday actually, it was a very interesting Spring that’s for sure!
  7. This was in between the showers on Saturday afternoon, a few hours later everything was white over.
  8. Of course everyone remembers the first “Beast From The East” In early March 2018 but what’s everyone’s recollections of the second the Beast From East from St Patrick’s Day weekend that year? Due to the stronger sun I don’t recall the snow lasting as long as the first event or the snow drifts being anywhere near as high but this was still quite a potent event. I remember the Saturday being bitterly cold and we had snow showers on and off all day. After dark the snow was really heavy and by Sunday morning we had around 10 centimetres. It had all melted by Monday afternoon though. The whole event was tame compared to the first Beast From The East but if it occurred this year it would be definitely more memorable!
  9. SqueakheartLW id say autumn lasts for about 10 months of the year
  10. Ooh I was only 0.1 off! An absolutely horrid month to be sent to the dustbin of weather history.
  11. March 2018 just for how exceptional the Beast From The East was, I’ve never felt a wind as cold as that before with full on white out conditions. It had a decent variety that month in general. I loved the warm spell in 2012 so that’s up there too. 2013 was remarkable but the cold and greyness outstayed its welcome by the end. The landscape was a barren winter wasteland well into April. Still it was an astonishing month with lots and lots of snow.
