  1. Grrr still doesn't work on my phone!! So frustrating, years ago it used to show location on the mobile. Is there a NW app? I'm on the Internet page?x
  2. I'm in Ashtead (between Leatherhead and Epsom) and the pink blob had been sitting about 5m to the west for 1.5hrs then started and got about 5-6cm in 2.5hrs! Come up Epsom Downs now for a little sledge, still been very finely snowing but brightening up now. Meto has more snow overnight so looks like it's coming back over later??!!!x
  3. Absolutely gutted by today's "fail" and the change in Meto outlook.... hopes of a cold end of Jan looking a lot less likely for us down here... as usual it's all central/northern areas with snow potential... xx
  4. Why have we lost our sad face buttons?! It feels wrong to click 'Like' and ❤ to all these flooding pics and downgrade posts!!x
  5. Absolutely thoroughly rank day here near Epsom!!! The garden has a pond, it's now turned colder too (although not cold enough to have changed the rain to snow which had potential yesterday!) so once again I'm sitting here cold, no snow, no snow likely (lost my heavy snow forecast for Sat morning!) with the grimest view from the window!!! Still have a little hope left in me for snow potential end of the month but also seriously doubting it too because... well, you know, Southeast England!!! Already starting to have dreams about an early Spring starting end of Feb, lots of sunshine and warmth in March and being in my garden more!!xx
  6. Wow from rainfest 24hrs ago to not only a sleet mention, not only a snow mention but a "significant accumulations" mention!!!! (On Meto update) I sit here (near Epsom), with my weather station saying it's 8.7c outside and set to stay around 9c all night until it drops to 4c at 1pm tomorrow and 2c by 4pm with sleet! And heavy snow Sat morning! Possible change to rain midday though but let's wait and see!!x
  7. I actually think this is worse than being in a flat pattern with milder temps.... at least you then know there is zero hope of snow and can be more accepting if it. To be sooo close, to see the potential in the charts, to have the synoptics, to have the freezing cold temps and STILL no snow is so cruel!!! Come on weather gods, give us a break!! Feel like this feeling will now continue even more with the hopes and dreams of the SSW and what that MIGHT bring!!! But until the effects of that touch ground we've a milder (but still wet!) week ahead but at least I won't be so cold in this cold house!! Let us keep looking forward and hope this SSW delivers - if not then roll on Spring and back to my gardening!!!xx
  8. Here near Leatherhead we had some lovely flakes fall in the pre-rain drizzle which was nice to see on my birthday but now I see more showers coming that are rain so despite 1.3c temp outside, the warm pocket of air around them wins!!xx
  9. For someone who has very poor heating in their house, I can confirm it was cold last night!!!!❄ I can't help feeling disappointed when I saw the most confirmation for probable snow than I have done in years!! The models were all soooo good, even non-ramper members pointing out how good this all looked, Meto updates agreed, snow symbols on my Met forecast and then yellow warnings for snow and ice issued... I thought that JUST FOR ONCE, it might actually come through!!! I am aware we have further chances to come with the cold seeming rather embedded for a while and potential SSW but am equally aware how quickly that can all suddenly change too!! Keeping the faith as it's not even mid winter yet but it's my birthday tomorrow and after a crap year I was really hoping I'd have some snow to cheer me up!! Hope everyone has a happier 2021 and it starts with a snow bang!!!xx
  10. So sorry to all our fellow members who have lost their parents (or any loved one) this year ❤ Snow chances slim for today, after seeing it being cold enough for snow but forecast to be dry, I now have heavy rain forecast! But it's nice to know we have some more potential coming up and we weren't all hanging onto a passing marginal system today for this year's only chance!! January is looking quite loaded with potential - of course, as always it comes with many caveats and possible changes BUT this is one of the best positions we've been in for a while for the potential of reloads this month so let's at least appreciate that!!❄?xx
  11. Urgh, storm casualty, my mini greenhouse got ripped up and overturned!!! However the Meto Yellow Warning for Snow and Ice has just cheered me up!!!?❄
  12. Here in Ashtead (near Epsom), we dropped to 3.6c, then went back up, then went down to 3.9c again and now it's started raining and gone back up to 4.5c!! Possible sleet in the early hours but other than that, not expecting much.... but will be checking local hills in the morning, just in case!!
  13. I lived on Box Hill as a kid in the 80s - can you imagine!!!?? It is now my go-to place to head when we have snow here, about 15mins away!x
  14. I have snow symbols!!! Thursdays rain changing to sleet about 11pm and then light snow from 3am to lunchtime Friday!! Not really expecting much but tbh I'd be over the moon just to see a bit of falling white stuff for the December Christmas vibe!!!xx
  15. Nov 2010 rang, he heard that Nov 2020 wasn't looking too good so has offered to come along and cheer everyone up!! Seriously though, if this did turn into a snow/ice winter, I can see the headlines now, portraying it as the worst Winter ever whist we're all on here seeing as a massive blessing to an otherwise awful year, lol!!x
  16. Yes that squally shower yesterday was crazy! Sunny blue skies turned very suddenly to dark, high winds and rain being blown across almost horizontally!!! Roll on next week for some calmer, sunnier, drier, chillier weather!!!xx
  17. Urgh this rain is doing my head in now!! Meto saying a bit more settled by middle of next week and into mid November so I hope they're right! It also means some nice chilly, sunny and crisp days too, which I much prefer! Don't mind a bit of fog to start either!x
  18. This would always be my favoured outcome for winter! Early cold, frost or snow potential making Advent and Christmas feel just right!! I do like snow in January to liven up what is otherwise quite a dull month and then I like a milder February to start an earlyish Spring and get cracking in the garden and sowing seeds etc!!!
  19. Urgh.... now facing yet another night of barely any sleep here in Surrey.... I cannot WAIT for Thursday!! Cooling down and we're headed to the North Devon coast for a few days so even cooler! I normally love the sun and heat so very odd for me to say that but I do feel rather finished off by this last week of 30c+ days and 20c+ nights!!! Nice to see the models showing an end to this but also signs of some further hot spells throughout August so we shall see!!
  20. Hi all, I'm heading down to your beautiful part of the country for a weekend break this week and was wondering what to expect weather wise?! Having come from the crazy 30c+ temps here in the Southeast, I'll be pleased of some refreshing sea breeze and maybe even a good storm! Would like some dry sunny weather too though! Meto currently showing a mix of showers/sun and a cool 21c!!! Does this sound about right?! Thank you!xx
  21. I have a friend in Wales who was watching an electrical storm that went on for HOURS!! She sent me a video clip!!x
  22. Well I'm just happy that the washed bedding I hung up outside at 10.30pm last night was dry by 9.30 this morning, lol!!! Fwiw, my little at home weather station here in Ashtead (nr Epsom) says 25.5c and 51% humidity. Mid 20s is my favourite (and my veg garden/lawn's favourite!!) so I think there'll be lots of hose and water play in the garden with the kids the next few days!! Going away to Devon next Thursday and fully expecting a massive breakdown and crappy weather coming in off the Atlantic!!xx
