  1. looks like Livingston and Bathgate have done really well out of this.. 6"+ generally with more falling.
  2. Amazing really considering i am just down the road in Bathgate and there was a solid 5-6 inches when i left at 6am!!!
  3. Just drove the m-8 from livi to bathgate...OMG tomorrow morning is going to be chaos!! You can't see any road markings, 10mph max the whole way, 3 cars slid off onto hard shoulder and a jacknifed artic on the slip road!! Glad I'm back from work.. I cannot believe the snow cover out this way already
  4. I work at the gyle/hermiston gait and it must be one of the most snow free places in scotland from a westerly attack. It doesnt anger me unlike some on here, but it really is a strange one!!
  5. http://surfforecasting.magicseaweed.com/?p=2034 unfortunately the onshore winds will really mess the surf up for any of the big reefs in Scotland or Ireland to be rideable
  6. Why is everybody obsessed with yr.no of late?? They consistantly overstate precipitation and min temps, and have done for a long time.
  7. I dont like using this word because it is over-used on here, but the Edinburgh 'Snowshield' is something else today. Having said that, current conditions here totally tie in with the bbc graphics over the past couple of days. The snow never made it to us on any of there runs!!
  8. Aye, i'm at Hermiston Gait LS. I fear it isnt going to happen here today. Its going to need to pretty prolonged, heavy precip for it to stick to the soaking roads. I get the feeling that the Pentlands are taking a lot of the energy!
  9. Lessons learnt during Winter 2011/2012 Don't waste time looking at charts. Just use the Met Office. They have been spot on this winter. Really wish i was aware of this in November.
  10. It's only a damp squib if you were expecting good things. I have been relying on the met office this winter for my forecasts. They never stated this would be an event for central Scotland. I think they have done ok this winter, possibly due to the lack of easterly flow where their convection forecasts struggle a bit...
  11. so... am i going to need my extra thermals whilst watching us smash up the English at Murrayfield on Saturday, or are we going to be in a weekend pool of mild air?
  12. Unbelievable!!! Bawbag was just a gentle breeze compared to this. Just arrived in the office and was literally struggling to walk across the car park. Genuine fear of debris flying around when i got out. If anything, its getting stronger here (West Edinburgh)
