I was diagnosed back in 2017 after a mini stroke. I have Polycythaemia Vera / Prefibrotic Mylefibrosis . Regular blood test to keep an eye on my blood counts if they go up I have a venesection ( where they take about a pint of blood) to help lower the counts I also have to take blood thinner and I also take a chemo tablet daily to help control the counts . Most people who are diagnosed with it are usually over 60 . At the moment I'm plodding along my next Bone marrow biopsy will probably be next year so that's when they check to see if it's progressed or not . I could have 10 years I could have 30 it's one of them. It was very scary at first but now I understand it better it's not so bad to deal with. The kids all take the mickey out of me when I have a bad day where they could find milk in the washing machine or I am completely stupid and forget everything . It's scarier being high risk of stroke than having dodgy blood . I'm the first one to laugh at what I'm doing or saying It's not that bad could be a lot worse

I'm still waiting for mine to pop the question he promised me when we first met if we were still together after 10 years we would get married well here I am now 21years later and still waiting . He also thinks because he goes to work it let's him off from everything else. Well before I had to give up work I was bringing the kids up doing house work and working. Suck on that fella that's what I want to say. Any how rant over .
