  1. A little late to the party here, but July was Fantastic! Sunshine and wamrth with the Azores High giving us some of the best mid summer weather for quite some time. Throughly pleasant and enjoyable! Reached 31c here aswell around the 13th so very nice indeed!
  2. Here is the latest radar grab showing the heavy rain over Essex & London area. Seems to be breaking up into East Anglia & Herts slightly.
  3. Essex & East London must be getting hammered right now with rain, radar looks ominous!
  4. Sun briefly out here as low cloud lifting from time to time, albeit very briefly at moment! Temp 18.1c. Surpressed compared to recent warm days.
  5. Fax Chart showing an unsettled eastern side of the UK Today. That big dosy SW high will be heading our way over the coming days
  6. Well yesterday we saw rain to the west of us for much of the day and seemed to become lighter and break up as it got closer. It began raining at 4am for a few hours, before clearing away by 10am. Dry now with low cloud persisting, heavy rain sliding southwards to the east of us!
  7. I would of thought the same as Coast, since it we are much closer to the rainband coming in, the confidence has increased?
  8. We had 8cm here in Headington,Oxon on the Thurs 8th Feb 2007, the 8th & 9th saw a few more Cm's before it turned to sleet and rain during Saturday early hours.
  9. Yup! Looks like some patchy rain and light showers ahead of the front, the occlusion to come through in the early hours. So a wet Friday night and Saturday it seems!
  10. Temperature 24.5c. Wind ESE 8mph. Visibility 10km+ Weather- Sunny Spells with Haze now after early morning clear blue skies!
  11. 24.3c here and Sunshine has turned hazy with high level cloud spreading in. Enjoy the warm sunshine you Easterners!
  12. 14.7c for me. Starting off settled and warm, but jet stream to come south again and back to Atlantic trough as we head through the month.
  13. 23.4c. Sunny Spells, earlier rain. Wind 5mph SSE. Visibility 10km+
  14. This thread is top viewing as we get closer to winter, have enjoyed the musings and thoughts that go into this thread in recent years. Looking forward to the ride of winter 2013-2014¬
  15. Been raining much of the night here, stopped mid morning, but had heavy rain an hour ago, now cleared away and blue skies, very warm and humid though, currently 23c, wind 4mph SSE.
  16. Some pictures i have taken in the last week while ballooning in Northampton.
  17. On/off light showers for much of the day, some warm sunny spells in between, bloody humid all day long, high of 23.5c earlier!
  18. That will do, to begin with. High building into us as we go through next week, warm temperatures becoming hot again the general concenus. So high pressure to return! Into next weekend it looks good at moment aswell, boding well for another Bank Holiday delight?
  19. Weather looking much better for Bristol Balloon Fiesta, next thurs onwards!
  20. Can see dark clouds to the south here, though we have been on edge of the showerband, can see blue sky over me.
  21. Been on/off heavy downpours all day. Had Thunder & lightning at 12:30pm. Clear Blue sky overhead now, but Cu Nimbus clouds surrounding the horizon! Like any normal day then Pete!
  22. Hello All. Its Bristol International Balloon Fiesta (largest free outdoor event in Europe!) next thursday, i'm sure some of you in here will be attending. Looking at the charts, conditions look to be decent as we head into fiesta weekend.. For more information.. http://www.bristolballoonfiesta.co.uk
  23. An intriguing set of runs so far today, building upto next week only 24hrs looked like unsettled conditions would be taking a foot hold, but a change in play today as a pressure rise keeps showing signs next week and the 12gfs is a blow torch run, keeps reloading heat and i'm sure storms would be close by again. Its Bristol Balloon Fiesta next Thursday to Sunday (8-11th) so need it dry and light winds i prefer the morning runs, slack pressure over us!
