  1. Very much high level stuff in Paris. Still incredible.
  2. MetOffice precip chart showing thunderstorms heading into the southeast corner later tonight.
  3. I wouldn't stay up, just looks like post-frontal crud with a lot of radar interference.
  4. Organisation getting going across Northern France. Strikes becoming more frequent.
  5. In all honesty, that storm is travelling towards London.
  6. I like to think the splitting is when the storm develops a positive and negative charge, thus repelling and splitting apart.
  7. I can say it's quite oppressive here tonight, air temperature still around 18C with humidity levels creeping up to 70%. (North Herts)
  8. I always trust the BBC weather graphics.- Said no one ever.
  9. Torrential rain here in Cottingham/Hull for the last half hour, things are starting to flood.
  10. Louise Lear: "Good luck trying to sleep where the thunderstorms do develop over the next few hours."
  11. To be honest, I can't remember when Estofex were right for the UK. They do brilliantly for the rest of Europe because it's a large landmass but they are predominantly wrong with us.
  12. My statement stands! "If there is no sun by one, there'll be no storms by dawn!"
  13. Yeah, fantastic that storms are initialising in Belgium....but Belgium is about 300 miles away.
  14. As my philosphy goes, "If theres no sun by one, there's no storms by dawn."
  15. Strong showers are actually building in the channel, certainly a different scenario than the last few years!
  16. Right folks, rarely write forecasts on here but as it's storms we're talking about, wellllll..... CAPE/LI Some strong CAPE levels over Kent with 1500-1700J/Kg for a time with a lift index of -6. Quite something this early in the year. Temperatures Very warm for the time of year with some areas reaching 20C. Helicity Moderate helicity levels conductive of isolated weak tornado development. Looks to be quite an interesting day tomorrow. Should all mechanisms play fairly, it will be an explosive afternoon and evening!
