  1. I’m from Bournemouth so get updates from my brother on how the bastards are leaving litter in the beach each time it’s hot. What’s the matter with people
  2. LB trying to do it's best storm avoidance again - pushing them away towards Aylesbury and Luton. Been like this for the last few days.
  3. Such a shame that the Bournemouth one in July 2014 wasn't in the daytime. That would have been nuts! I would have been a whole lot wetter though...
  4. Yes been a bit unlucky here in LB since Saturday last. The last few days they have all tracked to the west - out of NW London and up through Aylesbury, or up the M1 through Luton then MK.
  5. One in Ibiza in Sept 96 was that bad (constant lightning and thunder) that there is an article about it..which I can't post for some reason. But, although living in Leighton Buzzard, my parents live in Poole, so was visiting on the 3/4 July 2015 weekend - lucky me! that storm was incredible and was up here with the Ibiza storm. My mate was also over from Arizona and he agreed that it was up to 'US standards'. I noticed how incredibly muggy it was around 6pm - then by 11pm - it just went nuts. Non stop lightning and a constant roar of thunder. Unreal.
  6. It’s the wind. Being a runner too, this is torture. Constant windy weather.
  7. Can’t vote as wind not included. Obviously a light breeze is fine, but I’d gladly never be in a windy day ever again. Sick to death of it.
  8. Just checking where you were! Yes very wild in Poole, no thunder though as yet. Thinking possible Tornado action over Pompey area when it moves over there?
  9. Can only hear rumbles now, our two or three really close CG"s were between 10 and 10.30..really loud house shakers LOL. Not as good as the Bournemouth cell in July 15 when I was down visiting my folks. That was unreal!
  10. Not sure that the Monarch passengers on a flight I was watching out of my front window coming into Luton enjoyed the view that much tonight!!
  11. Well that was the best storm I've seen here in LB. One CG really close, was sure it had hit something close.
  12. Yeah that woke me up here in Poole. Christ that was loud!! Out of nowhere.
  13. Bursts of heavy rain here in Poole, can't believe I've got lucky again with a storm visiting the folks!! Think I saw that one CG towards the Purbecks too.
  14. Yes the snow in the UK was he 'little ice age' that was going on when Dickens was a kid (I think) so we have to put up with the snowy myth every year! Yes Dec 10 was great - also Dec09 was good too (or at least winter 09/10). Folllowing that 8-10 inches on the Sunday night in London, we had about 5 inches on the Weds night and 6 inches the following night - it was crazy. The influence of the Gulf stream is ridiculous - stories of the sea steaming in the Norwegian fjords etc etc. The have been documentaries about the slowing of the gulf stream, icebergs in the English channel etc..
  15. Yeah been a while now - where I am in Bedfordshire, just north of London, our last decent snow was 10-11..the snow came down really intensely on a Saturday afternoon. The new kept showing a Virgin plane stuck at Heathrow with the pilot waving out of the window! We had a little run from 2007-2011, but now it's back to the usual. Interesting points regarding New York, I didn't realise it was further north than the cities you mentioned, and being on the eastern side etc etc. We are a ridiculous outlier thanks to the Gulf stream and being on the western flank of Europe. We had a virtual ring of snow around us this year, from Iceland, round to Scandinavia, down through Europe, Greece and Cyprus for a while, and France and Spain. The problem is that the snow in the NE of the USA boosts up the dreaded Jet Stream - that sends god-awful wet and windy crap to us. Can't stand it!
  16. Double annoying for us though...jealousy factor and the fact that it means wet and windy crap for us. NYC is so far south...just not right. (I know the reason, no Gulf Stream etc..)
  17. Only one thing snow in New York means. Crap windy weather coming our way.
  18. Not reached Camden - always seems to take a NW track through NW London and miss us. Definitely not forecast!
  19. I was in Ibiza on a lads holiday in Sept 96, amazing storm which I have seen an article about somewhere. Back here in London...what is this storm that has appeared from nowhere...didn't think this was forecast?
  20. I see we sneaked into the red ish zone. Only really started at 6.30am, but an monsoon for about 2 hours. Unreal. Not as good as the Bmth one last July - good job I was down visiting the folks at the time in Parkstone!
  21. Late to the party, but the rain here in LB is absolutely mental. Been biblical for about an hour now, trains on west coast main line at a stand. Not muc electrical stuff, although just had a flash now. Heaviest rain I've seen here in 12 years.
  22. Chris. Looks like it's the level we had down in Bournemouth last July. It's funny then it's....a bit scary. Stay safe, looks mental on rain radar.
  23. Yep pretty heavy shower here in LB and perhaps the days last bit of lightning to my SW over the Chilterns. Funny as been benign all day, quite nice.
