  1. Unbelievably the storm utterly petered out before it got here. Remarkable. And excessively disappointing.
  2. Well it seems I’m just about to have the Mother of all storms - considering my last comment…..
  3. Very disappointing here. We were forecast dry and 24C for the afternoon but the drizzle hasn’t stopped and it’s only reached 18. And still no thunderstorms which is a vast irritant this year.
  4. It could be worse. After a good deal of cloud over lunch-time it’s cleared here and we had some strong sun for a while. Hopefully the grot will be pushed north next weekend.
  5. Not one thunderstorm over my house this year so far. Deeply disappointed. Just one nearby rumble early May.
  6. I’m just returned home from Languedoc where it was about 31 most days on the beach - which I’m fine with. But it rained one day! I seem to have brought a brief plume of sorts back with me. Not looking great for BH - but I remember two years where the ONLY hot weather occured on the August late BH weekend. One was 2013 I think but I might be wrong….
  7. A pleasant cooler summer day here. Plenty of sun. Lawn mown and people out in their gardens. Amazing! Well, actually they don’t as I can attest to someone walking straight into me yesterday while I was shopping.
  8. Well it was nice while it lasted. Now blowing a gale and heavy rain. Let’s get it over with. Sun coming next week.
  9. Breezy here presently with heavy showers pushing through, but also some blue sky with sun pushing temperature up here to 19C. I think we’re very lucky down here. Fingers crossed it remains so.
  10. Considering the forecast today is quite pleasant around these parts - maybe I’m more optimistic as my lurghi is clearing up - plus the worst of tomorrow’s storm pushes through overnight. But very sorry for campers who will get the brunt of Antoni, and for east midlanders with the low temperatures expected.
  11. Early afternoon became pleasant and warm with prolonged sunny periods for about an hour - but then a lot of cloud came in and it cooled somewhat but I think we got to 22C. Now some blue reappearing.
  12. I’ve posted before about the virus I’ve caught - which has given me laryngitis, which I’m prone to but I normally get around October or November time —— I do wonder if the weather has effected my health, as others have stated.
  13. Utterly ghastly day here - mild and breezy with periods of rain and consistent dark low cloud. It’s 6.45 and I have lights on. Combined with my head cold this truly feels like late October. I’m holding out for what seem to be consistent forecasts for something better just as my holidays begin- fingers crossed…….
  14. Reading all the above makes me feel lucky to be in my area where we had a good day yesterday, and three decent sunny days in a row a week ago, even if they were breezy and below average temperatures. Ghastly here today and my cold has gone into full bloom so I’m hankering down.
  15. For me, I need a degree of energy throughout the day to maintain comfort wearing one layer or no layers. A couple of days ago the temperature hadn’t changed by about 7 pm but my body felt cold, and I had to put on a couple of layers to feel comfortable. Low humidity also adds to a sense of being cold. This morning I’m quite happy to be wearing next to nothing I. 17C but I doubt I can keep that up the whole day. it’s raining here BTY
  16. Remarkable amount of blue sky with sunshine and 22C here in mid-somerset for possibly the best Saturday since June. Grabbing this while it lasts!
  17. I must stop looking at the long-term forecasts- it doesn’t show any change for the next two weeks. I have caught a cold.
  18. Tiny cracks of blue today allowing incredibly short sunny periods of about 30 seconds about once an hour. I’ve mown the lawn, though!
  19. We were stuck under the chain of showers moving northeast today - not enough to make it a washout and relatively pleasant.
  20. Somerset has fared well over the past three days with hardly a shower, and plenty of sun yesterday (Friday) - so much I got burnt. It’s deeply unfortunate that the worst weather seems to uniformly roll round for Saturday presently.
  21. It’s not been too bad the last two days here in Somerset- dry and quite warm and a decent amount of sun. Certainly better than forecast. Not looking forward to the weekend, though.
  22. So far this summer mid-Somerset has had about one thunderclap that I’m aware of. Really disappointed considering all the forecasts we’ve had.
  23. 25C is pretty much perfect in my eyes. I’m quite happy up to 30C.
