Could you post the link please? Incredible if true - I thought it would have been more like 400 mm so far this year in London.

That's all wrong, you're looking at sunshine hours. Rainfall for Jan-May is 191mm (Heathrow).

Yeah, they ain't revealing much about that yet. It's for an IT Operations role. Which is basically managing BA's website, there systems and all that stuff. Big responsobility, but a task I am up for if one day it gives me a path and money to become an airline pilot.

    1. Scorcher

      Scorcher

Would be surprised if it gets that high but the uppers are warm enough I think, depends on cloud cover perhaps?

    2. Scorcher

      Scorcher

In fact it's already 25C at Heathrow Airport, you could well be right!

    3. Robbie Garrett

      Robbie Garrett

No cloud cover here at the moment, it's all heading northwards and is more to my north. I bet I am in the dry area, with no bloody storm potential.

      http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/?tab=tempRange - Check London City. Says 29*C (Max 30*C)

  5. British Airways are set to operate out of Leeds Bradford from Heathrow on 9th December 2012.

  7. Whilst I appreciate people are annoyed at the Weather, the fact is... after 18 months of fairly dry and settled weather, we are now getting the complete opposite people are not happy!! Why?? It's a cycle.

    1. Bottesford

      Bottesford

Winter had more sunshine than this summer has so far! And yes simply that most folk want the dry/settled weather May-August rather than October-March!

Besides dry and settled is no good without sunshine or warmth of which was in short supply last summer too.

    2. Robbie Garrett

      Robbie Garrett

Fair it's occurring at the wrong time to peoples thoughts and feelings of how Summer should be, but we are surrounded by the biggest molecule/substance going. Something is definately not right about our climate, but hey does it have to be Summer for warmth?

    3. Bottesford

      Bottesford

Doesn't have to be but would be more preferable. Look how many events are currently being ruined by this awful weather. It's just miserable. The summer is the season most folks (aside from weather forums) care the most about the weather as it has the greatest impact.

I'm not miserable at all, but it's another London-centric event that will benefit London and London only (and a few select areas of the SE, such as Oxford). All I ever hear on the BBC these days is London London London London this London that blah blah blah. I just don't give a crap, there's an entire world outside that congested hellhole you know and I Wish the Government would give us the bloody time of day.

      Sorry, rant over..

    2. 95 Degrees

      95 Degrees

I'm with Aaron on this, another hyped up event which is London focused.

    3. Isolated Frost

      Isolated Frost

I agree with No balls like Snow balls. A great event hosted in the UK- with the world's greatest athletes and you get the typical moaners- I'm watching 3 football matches in Newcastle as well :)

  21. Munich 23*C on Saturday for Champions League Final day, 26*C on the Sunday.... come on!!! Have it!!

    1. Scorcher

      Scorcher

Well if you look at Munich's average in July it's actually not much warmer than London. I think being continental does allow for more dramatic fluctuations though. I wonder if the nearby Alps have an influence as well, you can get some pretty horrible rainy and cold days in Munich even in summer, as I've experienced myself.

    2. Aaron

      Aaron

The Alps do influence Munich's weather leading to big changes, they can get some ferocious storms in summer due to the Alps.

    3. Scorcher

      Scorcher

      It's a pretty interesting place weather-wise.

T'was very interesting - but felt rushed, so not the best programme of its type.

    2. Radiating Dendrite

      Radiating Dendrite

Completely agree Shuggee. I have been fortunate to walk past it everyday of its construction (I commute to London Bridge) and there are a few things they missed. The most fascinating to me is how they constructed the crane that sits attached to the side of the building half way up it!

      Robbie Garrett

Interesting documentary consider I am rather local to the building, shame about the speed and rushed feel to it though.

  24. Do I smell Manure becoming trophyless this season, have that bacon face fergie!"

  25. Just had a nice warm shower, and came out of the shower for the first time not freezing cold..... you can tell today is warmer than of late!!
