  1. Maybe we're just getting old Saying that, I do remember many nights as a child hiding from thunderstorms in my sister's bed, and I do feel like the 70's & 80's were more prolific than now, sadly.
  2. I always groan when those pop up, it’s like the “Murray Walker kiss of death”
  3. Nope, 2nd day in a row of sitting here in the south and crying lol!
  4. I am sharing that hope, just spotted the AC myself.
  5. The hold for Gatwick earlier this afternoon was dizzying.
  6. @*Stormforce~beka* dunno about you mate but I’m feeling cheated & left out while these amazing storms happen!
  7. I’m hearing the thunder from that, so deep & rumbly! Would love to know what the actual storm looks like.
  8. I get that storm- loving fans are disappointed, but does anyone actually read past the abbreviated notification warning any more? I’ve attached the Met Office “further details” attached to the warning - look at what I’ve ringed in red; “most” means the majority and the confidence chart is “unlikely”. I know people are disappointed but the Met Office have done the right thing. Plus many of us enthusiasts know not to get our hopes up too far in advance & to watch the radar nearer the time. P.S. the text says late afternoon/early evening. It’s early evening now and there are sferics on the radar. Just in someone else’s back garden lol.
  9. Just to add to the “muggy af” sentiment it’s the same here now & my weather station says 65% humidity.
  10. Can whoever sucked the fresh air outta the air, and made everything so darn still, please put it all back - I’m struggling here lol
  11. Was watching the mothership over Southampton from my loft, that structure was gorgeous!
  12. Well that was rather enjoyable, far less thunder than lightning lightning (which puzzles me), sky still flickering now
  13. I agree it did feel muggy earlier but not now. It’s very still, no breeze and 16.6 degrees according to my weather station.
  14. Completely agree (except swap fish for newts). This is the first year of our seeded wildflower lawn, sown last November, and it's taken what feels like forever to start growing. With the recent deluges it's now lush & green, flowers & buds are out and the dragonflies are loving it!
  15. Had very heavy rain pass through, now feels muggy at 16 degrees. Thunder & lightning in Portsmouth, heard the rumbles from here.
  16. Daughter reporting thunderstorm in Portsmouth, I can hear the rumbles from it here.
  17. Can confirm it is very humid, air is eerily still and I keep having to pop my ears lol
