If I could post my flippin video you would see that the reports arent 'hyped'...pretty much constant lightning and thunder going by west of us with a few overheads...little rain but way way more than 3 or 4 cracks!! We are just 8 miles east of Bournemouth and my lightning recorder recorded up to 115 strikes per minute...and it lasted from about 11.30 to almost 1am.

Over our house in the New Forest...no rain..just constant lightning and thunder...slipped past us to our west...:-)

Snowed quite heavily just now....:-)

Well..its not much but it is snow!! We are only 2 1/2 miles from the coast so this is pretty good...Most unexpected I thought we were too far West. ..my sister is thrilled they never get snow in Poole...:-)

...and now it's freezing the wet rain...nice..!!

Ok that's something I've never seen..its just rained all the frost off the trees and ground..I though ooh it's snowing..nope...All the frost is gone...

I'm glad the cold spell is short. ..although I never thought I'd say that!! We can't afford the heating on much atm and I loath being cold...If there were any snow prospects for down here I might feel differently but foe now I'm happy to have 'raging zonality" if it means I don't wake up freezing!!

Well the country file forecast was a bit rubbish..He kept saying 'there's a lot of uncertainty' about practically the whole week!! It's odd..The models have changed a tad but I thought it was pretty clear that there would be cold and probably snow for many....at least for a couple of days!!

Having been a lurking model thread watcher for many years it always amazes me how strong reactions are to a couple of so called 'downgrades'...I think what happens to a lot of folk is they over react to these whilst hoping that the models will change back to what they want...so kind of anticipating a let down while secretly hoping for the scenario they want! There's a distinct difference to the posts depending if you are a glass half full or glass half empty type of person...me, I just sit back and let others debate while quietly hoping...;-)

Getting pretty windy in the Forest..can hear it howling over the half time chat on the telly.....:-)

Calmed down a bit now...hoping the reason I can't hear rain is that it's turned to snow...spose I should look out of the windows really.....;-)

Thunder and sleet!!! Amazing!!!

did no one see the storm that came in over the New Forest and Southampton at 5am?? you could hear it coming long before the rain which was torrential started then there was frequent lightning and thunder for about an hour!

Elevated deep rumbling here in the New Forest with a storm in the channel off the coast to our West. ... Rain just started....

Really odd..we've just had about 15 minutes of moderate rain...but on every radar I have there's no rain over us at all!! It cleared over an hour ago according to the radar. If it was drizzle I might have understood..but it wasn't. .if I can hear rain on the roof of our park home it has to be reasonably hard. Never seen this before....

We've had one storm through with some thunder which took out the leccy and just had another few rumbles....
