  1. Storms in Norfolk? As if! Seriously though I wouldn't worry over much - I've seen some epic storms whilst sailing/narrow boating including on the Broads (mind you that was when storms were a weekly occurrence in this part of the world during summer). Best advice would be keep an eye on the radar and follow the usual precautions when on the water.
  2. A short period of light to moderate rain in Norwich during the last hour. I even had a brief glimpse of sunshine earlier (well, the roads had faint tree shadows so sunshine of sorts!)
  3. Several shades of grey lighter this morning and no drizzle. Hurrah.
  4. 41mm up to this morning. Persistent drizzle all has no doubt added another couple of mm. Could be worse, could be summer
  5. Flash of lightning off towards the north, probably Aylsham way.
  6. Thunder reported nr Stowmarket by a friend. The Norfolk drizzle continues in a dizzying spell of yawnfestedness.
  7. 13mm so far, only 2 more than on Saturday so no more than an average wet day.
  8. At the moment it's not as wet as it was on Saturday although there is a heavier area moving out of the Netherlands, it may yet pivot northwards away from the eastern counties
  9. Gets worse year on year. Where are my beloved Norfolk storms of the 80s and 90s? In bleedin' Holland, that's where!
  10. Afternoon all, it's May and I'm semi-out of hibernation (although this week has been a struggle!) Still cloudy with on and off drizzle and a cold wind. Meh.
  11. https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/italia/lazio/roma/lido-ostia.html Nice storm out to sea atm. I really don't know about the weather causing the collapse, reports say it was being worked on at the time so who knows.
  12. Bored in Garvestone seeks interesting webcams with lightning... https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/italia/lazio/roma/lido-ostia.html
  13. Looks like the heavier stuff is bypassing Norfolk or dying out after it hits the Wash....
  14. Grotty in Garvestone? Heavy shower but no more than that. Where are the "very frightening hail, lightening (sic) and gusty winds" the Daily Excess forecasted? I feel cheated..... Unfortunately the bulk of the decent showers seems to be staying in the west of the region as they move down
  15. Heavy shower, possibly a distant rumble but couldn't really tell. Anyway, the grass has had a bit of a trim and looks much better!
  16. A few brief sunny spells this morning, now just dull and grey. If it brightens up a bit then maybe the odd shower later....
  17. Think I'd go for the Netherlands (only a short hop from the UK), they have much better stormage than we do despite having a similar climate. Probably somewhere around Den Bosch/Zaltbommel I think.
  18. Managed to dodge a soggy bullet over the weekend nr Bedford bar a bit of light rain Sunday morning. Did have a TS with some torrential rain Fri afternoon though, not ideal when in the middle of setting up the caravan!
  19. The one day I didn't want frequent showers - setting up the caravan nr Bedford. Great. Radar just looks messy tbh.
  20. I can remember being in Ibiza - we thought we were seeing car headlights coming down one of the mountains. Nope!
  21. Strange though there's not been any almost off screen flares with that amount of activity!
  22. hmm don't know which way it's facing but it's not showing anything despite the frequency of strikes according to lightningmaps
