Can't beat a good old dose of drizzle, that's another drizzle day chalked up!

Mucky old afternoon, drizzly and humid.
Bit of a come down after such a nice weekend.
I see the usual areas are nabbing the storm activity as usual!
-
Loving these extended warm days and nights, long may it continue (preferably into May next year!)

We suffered with 0.9mm from the drizzlefest last night.
However, we've just experienced some severe weather, one rumble of "thunder" (??, not sure if that's the correct name for it) and some moderate rain. Pretty epic!

Got the grass cut with 10 mins to spare before what passes for a "thunderstorm" (??) appeared. Well, one rumble and some moderate rain, so quite a severe weather event in these parts.

I was right, another drizzlefest. The only person who has ever got a storm forecast remotely correct for Norfolk is Dan.

I was told on here something to do with how flat the land is in Lincolnshire is which is what helps home grown storms
Norfolk is flat as well (historically the East Anglian Clay Plateau was the stormiest) but the frequency has declined dramatically over the last 20+ years. I have no idea why.

Really happy for the people that got storms tonight, I think most of England had a storm to be honest apart from the north and north west. Really disappointed with this summer again for storms up here. We have had 1 small storm here since Aug 2020. We just always seem to miss everything. Oh well, maybe next year.
Nope, not a sausage here!

Dogs just suddenly kicked off, I think I may have seen a couple of flashes towards Swafdham.

Hold the front page, a light shower has appeared near Lakenheath....
*gasps in horror*

Good to see the central south finally getting some action....I think that means now my part of Cheshire is probably the worst performing area this year for storms. We had a brief 10 min thundery shower and that was it in the last 3 years.
Hmm, include most of Norfolk and Suffolk as well, the storm last week was a Leics/Lincs affair.

Just spotted a cell off Aldebugh go from zero to hero in no time.
However, I really doubt if any regions east of the A1 will see anything bar some distant flashes, everything seems to be on a N'ly track which is useless for east of the Wash/Cambs. The cell near Colchester could limp to the Norfolk/Suffolk border at some point.

Aww, looks like early morning drizzle on the cards, that'll be two drizzle days on the bounce, woohoo!

Haven't had a night storm this year yet though nothing wrong with being greedy lol
My last nighttime lightning pics were in 2019, so I think I have every reason to whinge

If only it would reach Lincolnshire despite being in a warning area, but feel like were too North for early hours, but cells are firing up
You had yours last week (and probably the week before that as well )

Quite hopeful for Norfolk and the rest of EA getting something later on. Dorset to the Wash and SE of that probably still in the game for some proper stuff.
I love your optimism!
Personally I think it's a case of renting a yacht and heading out into the N Sea...

Its quite mad really.
That part of France seems to get a LOT of storms. Every time I'm tracking potential, its constantly rumbling around there.
Yet, this small channel of water causes so much of a problem for us. Always cooling the air and killing potential.I initially was like. wtf is a Reigate Corridor that's a new one for me... Then the penny dropped.
I've always targeted Clermont Ferrand as a retirement location!

Typical rubbish day in the east, cloud streaming in from the coast and a cold breeze. What a contrast to the last few fabulous days, summer ending with the usual whimper here, I may be able to record a drizzle day later on.

Nice display of lightning tonight, intra cloud mostly so nothing of note to photograph.
Still, a nice treat for us storm starved Norfolk peeps!
