We suffered with 0.9mm from the drizzlefest last night.
However, we've just experienced some severe weather, one rumble of "thunder" (??, not sure if that's the correct name for it) and some moderate rain. Pretty epic!
Got the grass cut with 10 mins to spare before what passes for a "thunderstorm" (??) appeared. Well, one rumble and some moderate rain, so quite a severe weather event in these parts.
Norfolk is flat as well (historically the East Anglian Clay Plateau was the stormiest) but the frequency has declined dramatically over the last 20+ years. I have no idea why.
Just spotted a cell off Aldebugh go from zero to hero in no time.
However, I really doubt if any regions east of the A1 will see anything bar some distant flashes, everything seems to be on a N'ly track which is useless for east of the Wash/Cambs. The cell near Colchester could limp to the Norfolk/Suffolk border at some point.
