  1. A lovely start to the day, 4.3hrs of sunshine already. The NE wind has finally dried out the lawn enough to give it one last cut. Temp: 10.5°C - Hum: 62% - Dew: 3.5°C - Bar: 1019.37hPa - Wind: NE @ 6mph.
  2. A fantastic read, well done Tony and Matt. A lot of positivity can be taken from that.
  3. There's been some sunshine this morning, in fact, most of the week has been bright, despite the forecast. Windy today, feeling chilly with it. Temp: 11.1°C - Hum: 81% - Dew: 8°C - App Temp: 7.2°C - Bar: 1020.12hPa - Wind: NE @ 11mph, gusting to 27mph.
  4. Nice one Pixel. I thought i'd reply in here instead.. Do you mind if I download them and upload them to my server, if yours will be gone in a week? It might be useful in the future.
  5. It has been pretty consistent here, still 7.8°C which is 0.6°C above the MetO regional average.
  6. Sunny spells today, not too bad. I was expecting it to be overcast, so that was a bonus! Top temp of 8.9°C Temp: 8.3°C - Hum: 90% - Dew: 6.7°C - Bar: 1016.53hPa - Wind: NE ~ NNE @ 6mph.
  7. Well, last nights showers were certainly a spectacle! Lightning, hail, torrents of water.. 34mm yesterday and a further 5.2mm after midnight. 72 hour period dropped 77.4mm. The monthly total is at 117mm, the MetO regional average is 82.9mm Breezy today, but some sunshine here and there. Temp: 10.3°C - Hum: 80% - Dew: 7°C - Bar: 1000.91hPa - Wind: SW ~ WSW @ 10mph.
  8. I haven't seen rain like this for a while.. September 16th storm was the last time, and the rain wasn't as heavy as this. 11.6mm in the last 40 minutes. 8.8mm fell in 15 minutes. Daily total now at 31.2mm
  9. I was just peering out of the front window to watch the huge deluge going on, then suddenly hail and a huge fork of lightning! Very nice indeed! 8mm has fallen in 15 minutes. The garden has flooded, roads are like rivers.. a rain rate of 126.6 mm/hr.
  10. Holy crap! Torrential rain, hail and a huge fork of lightning! WAHOOO!
  11. Lapse rates beginning to steepen further, in the South now. Showers will readily develop and move North.
  12. We've got sunshine now! Turned windy, 28mph gust, 14mph windspeed. Temp: 11.6°C - Hum: 93% - Dew: 10.5°C - Bar: 982.93hPa - Rain: 17.8mm - Wind: S @ 13mph.
  13. That will be ideal for convection for later on. 56mm here in the past 48 hours.
  14. Not a huge amount of rain overnight, but it is horrendous at the moment. 14mm and counting. Heavy & thundery showers following on, right in to the early hours of tomorrow morning.
  15. Yes please! Looking interesting tomorrow, that's for sure.
  16. I would be cussing if it was snow. It was supposed to be heavy rain from 8pm, instead it has been a bit of light drizzle - I'm stuck on the no mans land gap of joy.
  17. I think where the OP is going wrong, is that his/her deciphering of the 'mid' prefix before Summer and Winter is wrong. They are interpreting it as 'middle' which is incorrect. Midsummer and Midwinter are names given to the date that the solstices occur, they don't mark the 'middle' of anything.
  18. Well, that was a fun night! I did get pretty rough here, a few things banging and crashing outside from time to time, nothing like 2013/2014 though. I had a top gust of 44mph and windspeed of 23mph, which exactly matched the Met Office forecast, so i'm happy with that. The rain (pre-frontal showers) started at midday yesterday and all the rain had passed through by 2am. So, in a 14 hour period, my manual gauge recorded 38mm, my Netatmo gauge recorded 36.3mm and my Davis 37mm. The pressure bottomed out at 965.56 hPa which is a new record. Swanage took a bit of a hit, as they do from Southeasterlies - lucky it was only neap tide, or the flooding could have been pretty extensive. That large pressure drop certainly pulled the water up! After spending the last few days jet washing the garden and cleaning up every leaf I could find, it looks like a bomb has gone off- leaves everywhere! lol Temp: 7.8°C - Hum: 83% - Dew: 5.1°C - Bar: 992.18hPa - Wind: WNW @ 4mph. Certainly a lot more rain to come over night..
  19. 968.98 hPa now - I'm struggling to keep my eyes open, so i'll head off to bed in the hope of another drop of 1 or 2 hPa.
  20. Monday's rainfall totals are looking rather excessive as well:
  21. In the midst of a short, sharp shower.. Pressure record on this station has been broken. Now at 973.15 hPa
