  1. ^^^ This doesn't surprise me one bit! Doesn't usually go on until November sometime. I might have it on occasionally before that sporadically. I did stick the fire on when I got in from work because it was freezing just to warm the house up.
  2. We do a big shop once a week. Surely stuff is gone off if you only do it once a month? Can't say I've noticed a reduction in the amount of shoppers I see, but I think what's more likely happening is that many who shopped at the Big Four have converted to Lidl and Aldi.
  3. I can't believe how cold it feels today, feels much less than the 12-13C showing.
  4. Brrrrrr!

Still quite warm today in the sun.

No sun down south for a change!

  5. It really looks and feels like Autumn is here now. As much as I hate the turn of Autumn for the effect it has on my mood, the positive is you can start to enjoy some cosy nights.
  6. Only gone and booked next year's holiday! Holiday blues tend to do that to you.

Not a fan of winter and snow then?

I love snow! Cold, grey nothingness, not so much.

That is the problem with UK winters, endless days of grey nothingness!

  7. Nope. Still plenty warm in the house. Normally don't do it until November time.
  8. Proper autumn day here. Feels cold. It certainly feels like the seasons have 'turned'.

I hear Mexico safety has improved massively in recent years as long as you avoid the border cities and are sensible.

What clouds are these? Seem almost to be the beginnings of Morning Glory clouds?
  14. When you get the red eye flights it makes you realise how long the day is. At midnight I was in Rhodes, caught the flight at 2am, flew for 4 hours, came home, slept for 6 hours and have spent the day doing the washing. Quite surreal really!

Coming back from holiday sucks! If that's not bad enough, it will be dark by 7.30pm too!

  15. Nope, not a cloud in the sky for most of the time. Saw some absolutely enormous anvils to our North over Turkey on one day, but they never made it over to us. I'll post some pics of them at some point.
  16. Landed at Stansted at stupid o'clock this morning. 7C. 7 chuffing C! To say I am cold today is an understatement.
  17. Stupid England with its rubbish temperature, boring food and grey everywhere :(

Nothing wrong with traditional national dishes either. We put ourselves down far too much in this country.

But yeah, the weather's mostly crap.

  19. Is it legal to go out shooting for food anywhere in the UK? Some bloke is walking around with a shotgun and 2 cocker spaniels!

I would immediately have called the police. Would not want a bloke with a gun around my property!

He seems to have gone. Neighbour said the Police said they will inform the farmer to see if they know who it was and will ask hm to keep a look out. Got here pretty damn to quick to be fair to them.

You can only shoot flying birds, And they are out of season. Used to game-keep on the local Estate ring the Police on both counts and if he is Poaching even better!

    Animal cruelty

But then that makes us just as bad as them. It's like teaching someone killing is wrong by....erm killing them. Bit hypocritical really. That doesn't mean that I don't think he shouldn't be heavily punished, though.

To be fair, think if an elderly home had been burnt down, donations would be through the roof too. It's not like they get that much all the time. Remember the hundreds of millions of pounds that have been raised after human tragedy?
