I was saying just today it seems in recent years April has become the dry month. Can't remember the last time it properly rained here although you'd think the opposite with how rapidly the lawn is growing!

Wish the cold wind would do one. It's ruining what are otherwise pleasant days. I don't know if it's just my memory but I swear the last few April's have been warmer than this. I'm getting married late April next year and hope it's a lovely warm day!

What a perfect bank holiday day weather-wise. Beautiful and sunny but not so hot you can't enjoy the weather. We've been out for an 8 mile walk in the country and spring is everywhere. It's glorious!

Got woken up at 4am by howling wind and very heavy rain against the window.

Honestly this weather is just vile. Either snow properly or give us the warm weather back. Can't bear this bitterness.

August is the main memory that springs to mind this year as it's the year my sister got married. I remember the weather in the second week was absolutely awful, very windy and rainy and her wedding was the 14th. I remember waking up on the 14th to beautiful sunshine and no wind, it was a perfect summer day for the wedding, before heading into rain and wind again the next day as we flew out on holiday. I recall sitting in Gatwick departure lounge watching the aircraft battling with the weather and doing several go arounds. The horrific Boscastle floods happened in the days after.

BBC have unsurprisingly downgraded to sleet now. Typical.

As Nick said it would have been nice to have had this earlier on in the year, but we've seen snow in April before so not a huge surprise. Still hoping mid April onwards really heats up.

Well this is certainly a come down after the beautiful sunny weather of last week. But can't lie, intrigued to see if we get some snow!

What a glorious week ahead coming up. I've really been looking forward to seeing the sun. It's been a tough winter emotionally and the sun coming out makes a world of difference to me.

Looking at the sky you'd be forgiven for thinking it was going to snow with that colour but could it be the Saharan dust?

I remember the heatwave that hit Europe in the Summer. We we're in Rhodes at the time and there was a thing where all the shops apart from food shops closed because it was too hot and the roads had started to go sticky due to the tarmac melting. It was stifling. Felt like you were breathing in air from an oven. For the two days that the order was in we spent the entire day in the water in the shade. I remember flying back to the UK and seeing so much grass that had dried out and turned yellow which was unusual to see.

I'm only interested in Winter if there's going to be snow and that doesn't look to be the case so quite happy to welcome the warmer weather now.

Actually, in the nicest way possible, we don't really care who the poster is. Contrary to prior belief we don't have favourites and aren't 'mates' with anyone. Often posts are removed because they are quoting posts we have to hide. Also making jabs at us like this is childish. There is literally a part of the forum you can ask us questions and you can ask any questions about posts removed but people rarely seem to use it... Anyway, the arguing in here is getting ridiculous. Stop. This is taking up a huge amount of our time to moderate.

Can we stop the bickering please. It's perfect possible to be excited by severe weather AND also hope there's no severe damage.

75mph on the forecast. That's insane for here. Especially up high where I am. Driving to work tomorrow will be an absolute nightmare. I don't know how it's not a red alert.

Just had an incredibly strong gust outside, proper whistling, howling wind.

We've just put some new fence panels in. If they get blown down again, I will be fining Eunice and Dudley.

I have no idea why people are already writing off winter. We have experienced snow well into February and March! Remember beast from the east?
