  1. sure I heard a distant roll of thunder. What is currently above me now has potential to be amazing elsewhere.
  2. Very dark and very heavy rain... no thunder though... it's very cool compared with the temp earlier though.
  3. It's just passing me now (Bilston, Wolvo) and very heavy rain, no rumbles or lightning as of yet. Made the streetlamps come on early though
  4. Yup, was my first proper storm living up here! I think I've had a few rumbles and flashes since, but nothing as exciting as that evening.
  5. Back home they're having a proper thunderstorm. Lots of smug facebook comments. B*****ds!
  6. OOOOOooooooh lovely heavy rain! Thought I heard a distant roll of thunder about 15-20 minutes ago. Thunder reported in Houghton Regis (slightly north west to Luton) by friends.
  7. Is Bridgnorth north west to Wolverhampton? Have answered this myself... nope... just west...
  8. I remember storms of the late 80's and 90's. I was seriously scared of thunder as a child, and used to wake my Dad up every night there was a storm. Often storms occurred every few days in the hot summers. In the end my parents decided I should confront my fear and took me to the highest point (I'm from South Bedfordshire, so it was Dunstable Downs) to watch a fierce storm. Instantly cured, it was beautiful! And an obsession was born! Thundery storms were definitely more frequent then. I live in the West Midlands currently, and apart from the now infamous storm in 2010 (was it September? October?) I've yet to experience anything more than the odd rumble or flash. I don't actually know what my brain fart will add to this thread, lmao, but yeah, there is a trend in less frequent stormy weather in the last 10-15 years. Definitely NOT selective memory when you actively seek storms to watch.
  9. Yes, sorry, that was her quote 18:16 was the time of the message
  10. I just received a message from a friend who says HER friend house and garden has suffer slight damage when a mini tornado touched down.
  11. Are there are any facebook groups that follow the chases too that anyone knows of? I'm new to virtual chasing, still quite amateurish with my knowledge too.
  12. sure i just heard a faint rumble a few minutes ago.... eeeeeeeeeek! My newborn's first storm!!! Yup! definitely thunder!!!!!!
  13. I have a theory... we've not had decent all nighters since they changed the weather maps... PERHAPS the maps hold the key to the storms of the olden days... a little coincidental, you all have to admit
  14. Crop circles are pretty. But vandalism isn't funny. Or mature... it's quite cool though.
  15. More conspiracy rubbish to control the paranoid, it's a tad tiresome, if I'm honest. Firstly, anyone can find coincidences in numbers and dates and things. And secondly, anyone who has the smallest of knowledge in geology, astronomy and simple physics will understand the improbability of comet Elenin having an effect on Earth. Avoid the conspiracy forums at all costs, they're full of bigoted fools who confuse their mental health issues for common sense.
  16. I've been hooked up to a fetal monitor all morning/afternoon in hospital, did I miss anything in the West Midlands?
  17. Epic lightning just passed to my North West, bit gutted it totally passed us. BUT you lucky people who have this over you right now. can you blow it back here?
  18. It's either horrible little treasures, car lights or lightning... but I'm pretty sure I have just seen a flash or two of something pretty amazing,,,, Yup, there's the thunder I am pretty excited and might do a little dance... this is looking pretty spectacular... and the lightning is intense. Purple
  19. Midlanders, how is it looking? I have a cling on 5 year old who won't let me look outside at the moment.
  20. Over here in Bilston it's a little humid. I don't fancy our chances tbh... I just don't feel it! (Not that I know anything...pmsl)
  21. Hi, (my first post here on these forums) I'm in Wolverhampton and we've just had a few rumbles of thunder, but it's passed now.
