Amazes me why Leeds v Middlesborough is called a Yorkshire derby
But its not now yet they still call it a Yorkshire derby
It still sits in the 'ceremonial county'
It's just tradition.
Yes, Middlesbrough still remains in North Yorkshire for ceremonial purposes, even though it has little connection to the county anymore. Whether the people there affiliate with Yorkshire is a different matter, but not many people here think of Middlesbroug as Yorkshire.
