  1. A dry and chiller night with mostly clear skies and calm Temp 2.9c
  2. 7.9c to the 10th 4.1c above the 61 to 90 average 3.2c above the 81 to 10 average
  3. Thursday 15 Feb - Saturday 24 Feb The period will likely begin on the mild side of average for most, with quite extensive cloud cover and outbreaks of rain and drizzle. During this time the far north and northeast, may just about hang on to some slightly colder and clearer conditions with near average temperatures. It is probable that for a time, these slightly colder and clearer conditions alongside a few showers may make some southwards progress, allowing some slight snowfall for hills, and frost by night. However any such southwards incursions of colder air look likely to be short-lived, with milder conditions bringing further cloud, rain and drizzle expected to quickly re-establish from the southwest for all but the far north and northeast. Sunday 25 Feb to Sunday 10 Mar During late February and into March there remains a large degree of uncertainty as to which weather regimes will be most prevalent for the UK. Compared to normal, there is a slightly increased likelihood of periods of winds from the north or east which increases the likelihood of spells of colder weather. Spells and milder, wetter and windier conditions remain probable at times, especially towards the south and west but it is unclear how frequent these will be. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  5. BBC Monthly Outlook Summary Unsettled into spring with variable temperatures Saturday 10 February to – Sunday 18 February Very variable temperatures. Wet at times Monday 19 February to – Sunday 25 February Colder and drier in the north than in the south Monday 26 February to – Sunday 10 March Unsettled. Chilly at times, mainly in the north Further ahead The next update on Wednesday might give us a better idea of how far south any colder air might come. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/outlook
  6. Heavy rain warning issued from 7pm tonight to 12:00 tomorrow https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2024-02-10&id=f7186f4a-a228-4608-8d1d-6fa5d5075864
  7. Wednesday 14 Feb - Friday 23 Feb Likely cloudy in the south and southwest of the UK on Wednesday with outbreaks of rain. Probably drier and brighter elsewhere with overnight frost and fog possible. Cloudy, milder, wetter conditions probably making erratic progress further north and east during the remainder of the week and into the weekend. Through the remainder of this period there is greater than normal uncertainty. There is an increased chance compared to normal of colder and drier spells due increased influence of high pressure bringing winds from the north or east at times. However, further spells of milder, wetter and windier weather are also to be expected and it is currently unclear which regime will be most dominant for the UK. Saturday 24 Feb to Saturday 9 Mar During late February and into March there remains a large degree of uncertainty as to which weather regimes will be most prevalent for the UK. 10. Tuesday 13 Feb - Thursday 22 Feb Begins the period cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain across north/north-western areas with drier conditions in the south. Becoming mainly dry by the middle of next week, especially in the east with the greatest chance for sunny spells, whereas western areas may see some rain or showers spread in from the Atlantic at times. Temperatures will probably be around normal, although colder conditions could develop in the east with overnight frost. Into the weekend and the following week, much of the UK will lie under the influence of predominantly dry conditions thanks to high pressure extending from mainland Europe, albeit with temperatures turning colder. However, milder, wetter weather from the Atlantic will always lie close by, with this encroaching from the west at times. Friday 23 Feb to Friday 8 Mar Whilst there is a large degree of uncertainty, conditions are most likely to be drier and more settled than usual through the remainder of February with winds from the east or north. This increases the chance of cold conditions and fog, with some wintry showers also possible. Early March may see a return to more changeable conditions becoming more likely with an increasing chance of weather systems moving in from the Atlantic. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  13. Monday 12 Feb - Wednesday 21 Feb Cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain across northern areas at first, with drier conditions in the south. Temperatures will probably be around normal, although colder conditions could develop in the east with overnight frost. 15. BBC Monthly Outlook Summary Becoming colder with wintry precipitation at times Wednesday 7 February to – Sunday 11 February Unsettled with some snow in the north. Monday 12 February to – Sunday 18 February A bit colder than average. Some wintry showers. Monday 19 February to – Saturday 2 March Colder than normal. Further ahead On Friday, the next update will take a look further into March and might give us some idea if we will see a change to milder and unsettled conditions as we move further into March. And that is assuming that the new models continue with the colder theme until then. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/outlook
  16. Amber snow warnings issued for: The Peak District, south Pennines, north Wales and northwest Shropshire https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2024-02-08&id=8522b3e9-49d4-40ca-8bdc-e9cdf0e876b4
  17. Sunday 11 Feb - Tuesday 20 Feb Remaining unsettled initially with further rain and hill snow across the far N, elsewhere a mixture of sunny intervals and rain showers. Thereafter a trend toward more settled, but likely cold conditions is favoured with snow showers tending to focus on eastern coasts. Elsewhere, a decent amount of dry weather, but with some hard overnight frosts and a risk of ice. Again milder air may try to encroach from the Atlantic, bringing with it the usual risk of rain turning to snow as it encounters the cold air, but this very uncertain. Windy at times, especially in the E at first, with a notable wind-chill. Temperatures generally in the range rather cold to cold, especially across the north. Wednesday 21 Feb - Wednesday 6 Mar Although there is still some uncertainty, conditions slightly more-likely to be drier and more settled overall with lighter winds, from a more N'ly or E'ly direction than usual. This increases the likelihood of cold conditions developing more widely with an enhanced risk of fog and frost, alongside wintry showers almost anywhere, but perhaps most-especially near E or N facing coasts. There is still a risk (albeit lower than climatology) of Atlantic frontal systems (and less-cold conditions) bringing rain across parts of the country now and again, especially the W/SW but this would likely bring a longer period of snow somewhere. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  19. The snow warning has been updated to remove some parts of the south.
  20. Friday 9 Feb - Sunday 18 Feb Cold air already established across the N of the UK is likely to extend to all parts through next weekend. As it does so there is a risk of further sleet or snowfall for some parts, but this should be more limited in extent than earlier in the week. So, becoming generally cold, but bright throughout (some uncertainty as to how quickly this happens in the S/SE) with snow showers tending to focus on coasts, especially in the E, Elsewhere, a decent amount of dry weather, but with some hard overnight frosts and a risk of ice. Windy at times, especially in the E at first, with a notable wind-chill. Temperatures ranging from rather mild in the S/SE at first, to cold, perhaps very cold in the N. Tuesday 20 Feb to Tuesday 5 Mar Although there is still some uncertainty, conditions slightly more-likely to be drier and more settled overall with lighter winds, from a more N'ly direction than usual.
