    Yes we've just had a few rumbles, sheet lightning and heavy rain in Cowes.Sounds like it was more over in Sandown though!

    Ooooh there's some activity just south of the IOW.. Looking very dark looking south over Northwood . Fingers crossed!

    Went to bed at 4.15am. Woke up at 6.50am. Small distant rumble and a bit of rain...was that it? Or did I miss something apocalyptic during my 2.5 hour slumber?

    Wind has started to pick up again...

    Very quiet in Cowes. It's been really breezy all day, and now there's not even a puff of air to move the garden windchimes. It's warm too. No sign of any excitement yet. I'm going to bed - hope that I don't miss anything.

    Very calm here in Cowes, I didn't even realise it was raining quite so hard until the cat fell through the cat flap looking a bit spangled.

    Light rain shower in the last half an hour, but now dry. Feeling muggy. outside thermometer reading 14 deg C. Would love to see some lightning tonight, but it looks like all the action is too far away.

    Sleet here since 8pm, but now turning to light snow.

    Light snow here in East Cowes for the past 30 mins. Quite breezy. And why am I still up??! Can't seem to tear my eyes away from that lampost...

    Metcheck is predicting light snow from 1500 to midnight, but at the moment I have sunny blue skies. Blue tits are fighting to get on the window feeder though, so maybe they know something I don't!

    wallpapering a ceiling is a very accurate description. Also applies to pet travel carriers and vets appointments. I love Simon's cat! His new book is hilarious. If this snow doesn't ease, I will have to take His Lordship outside and hold an umbrella over him while he thinks about it. Getting to work tomorrow is going to be tricky.. just seen a 4x4 go down the hill sideways! Snow seems to be getting heavier too.
