  1. Sunny skies this morning, then clouded in this afternoon and just had a few light showers. Later this evening is looking potentially very interesting. Storm activity is really getting organised across Wales and the South West right now. It's been a pathetic summer for storms in this area, would be nice if this were to be rectified in style this evening.
  2. I don't know if we had any lightning/thunder here overnight. If there was, it wasn't loud enough to wake me at least. However, we have at least had some measurable rain. 2.4mm recorded since yesterday evening. A nice start to the day here, chance of more thundery rain tonight it seems.
  3. Some significant rainfall finally made it here, moderate rain for the past 10 minutes or so. 0.3mm deposited so far, a positive deluge for here in recent times!
  4. A warm and muggy day again. Just had a brief light shower, but not enough to even slightly dampen the ground.
  5. An overcast start here, but dry. No rain recorded overnight, so looks like we have dodged it yet again and another largely dry day could be in prospect, despite the forecast. The Welsh hills are gobbling up any rain that is destined for here.
  6. As I suspected might be the case, it stayed virtually dry here all day with the rain fizzling out as the remnants eventually moved across. There was the briefest of light showers whilst I was out on my bike late afternoon, but this only lasted for about 20 seconds, so hardly worth mentioning. More rain forecast for tomorrow by the metoffice...
  7. Hazy sunshine has been replaced by more general cloud cover now. Loads of rain on the radar out West over the Irish Sea, but given the way this is moving, I really can't see us getting more than one or two light showers at the very most at some point this afternoon. Currently 21.6C, certainly warm and muggy out.
  8. A warm night last night, minimum temperature was 15.8C. Hazy sunshine this morning. Rain forecast, but not convinced we'll see much, if any here today.
  9. Another warm, dry and mostly sunny day here again, a high of 24.1C. A nice starry sky this evening. This is likely to be the last dry day for a while as it's all change tomorrow as things turn more unsettled. Things staying on the warm side over the next few days by the looks of it though.
  10. Not one single rumble of thunder heard here this year, hopefully we can break the duck over the coming week.
  11. Another cracking day with largely sunny skies and warm again too, a high of 23.3C. Another lovely sunset to end the day as well right now. Looking like we may squeeze out one more decent day tomorrow before the transition to unsettled conditions over the weekend. It will be a bit of a shock to the system after the predominantly dry weather recently.
  12. A stunning end to the day here, lovely sunset with plane contrails glowing orange/red as they drift through the sky.
  13. Another decent day here with long sunny spells. A high of 21.2C. A more notable breeze compared to yesterday. It is looking rather like the breakdown to more unsettled weather will occur over the weekend and with low pressure parked close by, we are unlikely to keep avoiding significant rainfall in this part of the region. It has been a very decent summer and the breakdown to more prolonged unsettled conditions had to arrive at some point. It's good that it's held off until the end of the summer holidays.
  14. A much better day today with plenty of sunshine and a high of 21.2C. Two or three more days of settled weather by the looks of it before the breakdown to more unsettled conditions over the weekend.
  15. The rain did reach here, but very little. My station recorded 0.1mm of rain overnight, so only a trace amount of rain occured here in the early hours of this morning.
  16. After a mostly overcast afternoon, the sun has finally made some very brief appearances through the smallest of chinks in the cloud, but that's about as good as it is going to get by the looks of it. It was looking promising late morning when we had around 20 mins of sunny intervals before the sheet of grey cloud drifted across from the East.
  17. I'm afraid that other than a very brief appearance of the sun late morning, it's been overcast most of the day here in West Cheshire with not even a hint of the sun breaking through right now under thick cloud cover.
  18. Overcast here this morning. A trace amount of rain recorded overnight (0.1mm). Looks like an improving picture today with the sun possibly making an appearance later.
  19. An overcast end to the day here, but the rain has stayed away so far. I'm afraid I can't match the gourmet delights above, a simple cheese burger and sweet potato fries for dinner for me today, and as it's a bank holiday weekend, a few Sunday evening beers to follow.
  20. Hazy sunshine here all morning and for the first part of this afternoon. Its now turned quite cloudy. The temperature reached 24.9C earlier this afternoon, but now decreasing due to the cloud cover. A warm afternoon out.
  21. A bright start to the day here and looking like a rinse and repeat of the weather yesterday with a decent day to come. I note rain mentioned in the forecast for tonight, but wouldn't surprise me if we stay largely dry in this part of the region.
  22. It turned into a glorious afternoon here, the showers have stayed away and a lot of the cloud cleared away by mid afternoon and a warm afternoon too with the temperature comfortably into the low 20s celcius. peaking at 23.3C so far.
  23. It turned quite cloudy for a time an hour or so ago here, but now around 50% cloud cover with decent sunny intervals. The clouds that are around are of the developing cumulus variety that could probably easily bubble up to produce a shower this afternoon. Currently 19.7C.
  24. A lovely start to the day here with sunny periods. Plenty of jobs to do here too, but they can wait.....again. Showers forecast again, but it looks like they'll be more of a nuisance value if you catch one rather than anything significant so shouldn't really affect outdoor activities. Looks like being a reasonable weekend to end what has been a decent summer.
  25. Things clouded in here around late morning for a couple of hours or so, but then it was back to largely sunny skies by mid afternoon. A bit more cloud around again now. It has stayed dry throughout. A high of 21.8C and winds fairly light throughout so a pleasant day. Now time to consume curry followed by a few beers.
