Seems to have got over the Pennines ok in the last hour or so. Large-ish flakes with no real intensity have just started falling here.
-
Nothing other than snizzle has fallen today, contrary to what the radars have said.
Does anyone have any idea why they have been getting it wrong?
-
The radar has no idea, the met office haven't even forecast it so I think it's down to now casting.Starting to stick on the cars now. Don't know if it heavy enough to settle. Windy too. Does anyone know how heavy it will get ?
I can't imagine we'll get anything significant though.
-
I'm pretty sure the radars are incorrect again with their intensities. Apparently under moderate snowfall when there's actually nothing but light snizzle.
-
Unless it fizzles out quickly I don't see why not. The last few radar shots have shown it becoming larger every time.Could this get here?
-
The radar is showing some moderate precipitation intensifying whilst edging north over Liverpool. Could be quite interesting.

The joys of cable! My SKY has gone now.

Two/three memorable events in one winter. More than makes up for a snowless 2012 for me!You would be right with that assessment. This is brilliant, glad to be sharing it with you mate!
-
That sounds painful to watch!I wish it'd die off now tbh. Only so much dandruff wetting the floor you can take.
Even North Manchester is apparently starting to get a cover now! Where's the nearest place you know of to have snow settled?
-
Must be past 10cm now in my garden, looking good.Just been for a cig & a quick stroll, only about 6 inches on the main roads round here, no biggie yet.
Looking at the unreliable radar, surely we have a long long while before this event ends? Looks like it has enough in it to get through to at least tomorrow afternoon.
-
It's as heavy as its been all night if not easier right now. This is brilliantly ridiculous. I keep forgetting its nearly April!
-
It is! Hoping it's still snowing in the late morning, that would be brilliant! And its still snowing!
The models suggest it should be, the radar doesn't seem to have an idea what's going on tonight!
For a winter with no real prolonged cold and no long spells of snow on the ground, we've had so many days with snow falling. A couple of memorable events now, all on Fridays.

What's the depth up there?Still smashing it down here, another memorable snow event for this winter, can't wait to see what its like come daylight!
Is it not possible that the radar could be incorrect? It really hasn't matched what has actually been falling at all tonight here.Again, given the light nature of the precipon the radar, HOW have you managed that depth?
-
GFS & NAE both still have us under precipitation until 3am Sunday. Many Met office forecasts predict precipitation throughout tomorrow.
Just how long could this last for?
-
How long is this likely to stick around tomorrow?
-
The radars have been strange tonight. They have not corresponded with what has been falling outside at all from what I've seen.
-
My window, yes my window now has a dusting.
-
I wish it would just stop or become heavier, this nearly there but not quite stuff is just painful.
-
Can't believe the flakes are so large just over 15 miles to the west of me and not much further south, yet here they're still fine flakes which are never going to settle on the soaked ground. So close.
-
Snizzle now in Wigan. I'd rather have nothing at all than snizzle.
Not feeling confident at all!
-
I just don't see this sticking for a long while yet, by the time it does I think the heaviest precipitation may have passed.
So much snow has fallen in the last 24 hours yet all we have had is a 1-2cm covering which had gone within a couple of hours.
-
The same tiny flakes since last night here, last night's cover has melted significantly throughout the day.
Come on, surely there's at least some heavier stuff in this for us!

Interesting 18z, most of the heat sadly looks like it's going to be east and south of us here in the north west. Still, if it verifies, no rain and temperatures ranging from 18-22°C is hardly anything to complain about. If only I lived about 100 miles south east!
