  1. Hi gang, just noticed possible several cells breaking out over north of breast peninsula, and here on west mendip i  c an see tops of a few threatening clouds way to my south of south west. Im hoping that its just kicked off for us further south and hoping that you further north get a few imports from the west country , just getting stuck in to our sausage baps and oven crinkle chips cheers all .

  2. Hi gang , just had ten minutes of torrential rain, very small cell on radar which seemed to hover and at one point split apart to be only a few pixels. Then a very short burst of steroid sized rain for just a minute then Silence , surprisingly no lightning, Very warm seas with cooler air aloft , bring on winter gang if only but ya never know ! Cheers to you all and yes I'm still on the sausage baps Stella's all round .

  5. Hi fellow posters . Realy hope that the people who dont usually see Snow get a covering over the next 48/72 hrs . It seems that every synoptic situation regarding possible low lying snow is like a big Puzzle with thousands of different outcomes, a bit like the Lottery , but im fairly confident that in my kneck of the woods which is west mendip at just 90 mtrs could see a wet mix of snow by first light tuesday morning and later tomorrow into wednesday with a good covering on wednesday .so good luck to all of you , i dont post often but i am lurking and enjoy the Banter on here , cheers to you all .

As a veteran many many winter campaigns from the seventies onwards. I would note that changes from mild southwest/Westerly to colder regimes be they  northherly or easterly based tend to come about by several increasingly amplified bursts as opposed to one sweeping change.

The amplification waxing and waning over a period but with each amplification burst getting stronger.

Follow the period 17th Jan  to mid Feb 1978 on the wetterzenteale noaa archive to see what the prize can be.

And what a prize for us in the west country .I personally followed the run up to the 18th February blizzard in bristol as a guest at the weather centre and what an interesting week that was , will it won't it even at 9hrs it wasnt guaranteed to reach bristol , but hit east bristol about 9pm ish , a great snowfall , cheers gang 👍..

  7. First i must wish all Posters a balanced and very happy new year .As for the weather  ,next week is looking mild and often wet then if some of the models at the longer range come true we are then in with a shot of polar Air with deep areas of low pressure maybe lowering hights to our southeast. Think we'll get a good run of dream 10 dayers then perhaps a sniff of a decent chase .take care all and enjoy your evening , all the best for 2023 cheers 🍻 and sausage baps all round with Stella s of course.
