Well what a night last night, we had a thunder and lightning show for almost 2 hours. The first lot passed us just out to sea but still gave a good show then it was more of a direct hit between 1 and 2am. Not seen that much lightning in a long time.

Currently snowing here too. Merry Christmas everybody.

Yep we currently getting a few rumbles of thunder up here in the Alnwick area and a couple of heavy hail showrs earlier.

Nice fresh cover here in the Boulmer area, a nice surprise after the melt yesterday, about 2 inches of fresh snow and we are right on the coast so must be really deep inland. Most of he schools in Alnwick have shut.

Well it keeps changing from heavy sleet to wet snow up here in the Alnwick area, windy too. I imagine anywhere with a bit of elevation will have proper snow.

Snow has started here too . Was very fine flakes to begin with but now getting heavier and showing the first signs of starting to settle.

Snowing here in the Alnwick area It's settling too though it's only about a cm deep so far but it still going.

Just woke up to find it's snowing up here in the Alnwick area, settling too and i live right near the coast.

Currently snowing here nr Alnwick, has been going for about an hour now though its fairly light but is covering the patches that had melted during the day.

Well it's now snowing here in Northumberland. I'm about a mile from RAF Boulmer which is near alnwick and it started about ten mins ago, fairly heavy too

We finally have a storm worth mentioning here in Alnwick, its hammering it down at the moment with some good thunder and lightning thrown in too, just hope my daughters school got back from their trip to the beach before it started.

At last we have had some snow worh talking about up here in Northumberland and the kids have made the most of the schools closing early. Got about 3 inches deep which is not bad considering we are only a mile from the sea.

Been snowing here now since about 0930. Best snow of the winter for us up here anyway. Got about 3 inches worth which is a good amount for our location.

Just started snowing here in the last 10 minutes or so.
