We had a couple of cm's between 22:00 - 23:30 last night, not sure what, if anything fell after that until I got up at 07:00 but most of the ground cover has melted but it still makes everywhere a bit brighter. We've got lovely blue skies, a sharp nip in the air and no wind...as of yet!

Really heavy here for the last 15 minutes, enough to put a cm down already. Nothing showing on rain today though!

Stopped here now, well over an inch in an hour. The trees in the garden look like White Christmas trees.

Had a heavy shower for last 15 minutes which has covered everywhere. Started by going dark, then a heavy shower of graupel (sp) and really heavy snow. Died down now to fine flakes.

Snowing here again now and rain today showing next couple of hours looking promising.

I've got light snow and grauple (sp) in Stoke now. Really impressive covering considering the forecast.

Snowing heavy big flakes here. It was sleet 20 mins ago but it's going well now. Rain today showing only sleet for us that's due to clear in about an hour.

Calmed down a bit now, falling steady with big flakes. Rain today shows could continue until about 12:30 here.

Rain today actually showing this band being more intense than the 5am one albeit not as prolonged.

Just had a much closer rumble, patio doors open, off to watch the skies in the garden!

Getting dark here now and rain started again, some distant rumbles south of me and it looks pretty black too. Hopefully round two will deliver

Fine snow here in Stone, coming down steadily now more than it has for the past 3 hours.

Really? I think that we may see a dusting if raintoday is correct.

Started to snow lightly again in Stoke after a break of an hour or so. Looking at the radar we could still see some more today/tonight from that band to the east as it moves west and the band to the south as it moves north!

I'm gonna give up for a couple of hours now and see what happens between now & 9 I've been working all day from the dining room table looking through the patio doors into the garden waiting for sleet to turn to snow!

That's what the majority of the forecasts predicted for the last 12h, then the beeb's map shows it missing us for the majority of the night, oh well lampost watching until Topgear comes on!

Raintoday radar contradicts beeb weather forecast, according to their radar it should be snowing now

Major downgrade for Stoke on Trent according to the beeb, hope they're wrong!
