  1. Wish the arrow box was a touch bigger. It's smaller than the number box. That's not a problem unless you're short sighted like me and have to spend several seconds carefully trying to place the curser on it. I have tomato overload in my home, desperately wishing for 10c at night so they can go out. Every year I hope it will be sooner than mid May and every year it doesn't happen. You'd think after decades of growing them I'd know by now.
  2. Amazing what a difference a few miles can make, no rain here this morning, never mind thunder! in fact we had clear blue skies. Left at mid day for Plumpton race course. Lovely there too, which was nice. Managed two 2nd's and a 3rd, well the 3rd was also last as only 3 finished. Just as well we don't part with real cash when we go.
  3. Where abouts in SE London are you Daniel? Now if it was like this this morning it would have been a lovely day, unfortunately the cloud has broken too late in the day.
  4. As a menopausal woman I've been practising begrudging for several years hehe. If it snows I'll have to wrap the frog spawn up, round up some ladybirds and go into the loft again to get my hat and gloves Good job I don't think it will snow here
  5. You can keep those wintry wishes to yourself please. No snow now, it's too late, ladybirds have left my kitchen, bumble bees are out and about, I've got window sills full of seedlings and I've packed away my trapper hat and gloves in the loft.
  6. In case of blight which I get in wet years; Legend Ferline Others; Gardeners delight Roma Marmande Minibel A yellow one that I can't remember the name of. Might stick a tumbling on in too. Tried loads of others over the years and didn't like them for various reasons. Very disappointed with Black Russian, didn't like the taste. I've got a very very small garden, not a bit of soil can be seen by summer. Weather note....Still blue skies, not as warm but that might be because I'm in a north facing room
  7. Beautiful day and warmer than I was expecting in the sun. Tomato seedlings potted on with out injury to my back and painted the fence and wall all without back ache too. Not pushing it so lawn mowing tomorrow. Loads of bumble bees and ladybirds out in the sun, hope a late cold snap doesn't appear now, would be the end of many of them. Popped out to buy some yeast and noticed everyone walking around with a spring in their step and seem happier. Amazing what a sunny day can do to lift the spirits.
  8. Shame you're not near me I'd love it. Loads of 'activity' in my pond but not a single piece of frogspawn yet. Usually have loads of it by now. Looking forward to a nice sunny day tomorrow so I can pot on my tomato seedlings without the risk of putting my back out again. Might risk mowing the lawn too.
  9. Honey and lemon drinks, works wonders, especially on man flu Weather note: Wouldn't it be lovely if the summers were warm enough to grow lemons.
  10. Jan I did my back in the other day turning the compost heap, I look forward to potting on my tomatoes at the weekend, not as dangerous! Hope your back recovers quickly. It was a lovely day today until the alternator went on hubby's van so guess who's got an early morning drive in the fog (thanks for the heads up JP) tomorrow morning. Thinking on it, he can drive in and I'll drive my car home via Sainsburys then the fog will have lifted a bit I hope. The warm days have the forget-me-nots out early in my garden, looks very spring like with the daffs. Much nicer than the snow on the ground this time last year.
  11. Pop round to mine and do the same please :)I'm off to have a garden day. Much more interesting clearing up and pottering out there than doing chores inside, especially as it's dry and sort of warm.
  12. The weather outlook have snow flakes for me on the 19th & 21st. Too late, don't want it now, I've got my dinner to grow.
  13. I hope it moves to Saturday, I'm at my inlaws all day Sunday and I want to do some gardening.
  14. So pleased with the initial findings snowlady. And whilst I rarely mention it, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29, I had a lumpectomy and 22 years later I'm still here Having trouble adjusting to sleep UK time, not to mention the weather. Thailand is a lot warmer than here and my old joints are complaining again about the cold. Never mind, nice to see blue skies and pleased that I didn't miss a snow event whilst away. Are there any spring forecasts out yet? I
  15. Hopefully that low will become a nice still night with no rain either. At least at Heathrow whilst my plane is taking off at 9pm! I hate taking off , it's the worse part of flying.
  16. Thanks JP S*ds law says as I've entered the snow cup for the first time this year, the blizzard will start on the 7th and finish on the 17th.
  17. Does that ridge make good flying weather around 9pm from Heathrow? I hate taking off in wet and windy weather.
  18. My elderly mum just called me, the wind blew her bird feeder over could I pop down and and put it back up? She lives 80 miles away at Greatstone! I'll pop down Monday and do it and make sure she has plenty of supplies in before the snow arrives. Speaking of which, netweather 10 day forecast gives me 70% of snow next Sunday
  19. Need more than a rain coat! More thunder and lightening too and it's heading your way. Feel sorry for anyone caught out in this, it was lovely earlier today.
  20. Big rumble of thunder here and sudden short sharp burst of heavy rain. EDIT, lots of rain and windy too.
  21. Is it the sort of snow/cold that means I should get hubby to chop some extra logs for the fire? or the sort that I'll think, oh is that it?
  22. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fly out to Thailand on the 6th, no snow between me and Heathrow airport please. The slightest snow flake and it seems to cause chaos there.
