  1. Snowandrocks Glencoe has some Snow on upper mountain but is limited as far as I heard and Nevis range is closed due to insufficient snow for sports Wouldn’t like to be a snow sports owner that for sure. Diversification of activities seems only way now as snow just isn’t guaranteed. I remember going up to Glencoe almost every weekend in early-mid 2000’s and getting amazing conditions almost all the time. My skis have barely left the garage in the last 7/8 years, either due to lack of snow or weather not playing ball when have the free time. the lecht and glenshee get a foot dumping over next few weeks and Easter half term is a roaring success!!
  2. Absolutely honking night here. Cold rain, windy(easily gusting 40+ Kn), absolutely Baltic with the wind chill. Even the dog who doesn’t care about the weather normally was desperate to get back inside!! Current temp 4°c
  3. Just back from swimming lessons and snows on out targets/pitmedden way. Not heavy but it’s snow. Back home in Newburgh it’s cold still and clear sky.
  4. What a horrid morning again!!! Local roads with a lot of flooding this morning in way to work. Don’t realise rain had been so heavy last night!! Miserable, dull wet day in Aberdoom with the local rags sporting 200mile snow blankets on there way
  5. Anyone been in the mad thread lately?? Seen a few post on X “formerly known as Twitter” saying things are trending in the right direction for a greeny high and colder/cold/snow/snowy conditions on the way 10th Feb onwards……but I can’t bring myself to go in there and see what’s happening with 50million different opinions on whether the cold will entrench the south coast and bring them Narnia like conditions so a simple yes it’s looking good for us up in Scotland will suffice
  6. @johncam 30 years in Glasgow and always thought Aberdeenshire was a cold snowy place….think i jinxed it been better snow events in central belt than up here… bar a couple!! its the wind up here that gets to me as a keen golfer…..always hoorna windy
  7. Well another standard winters day in Aberdoom. Slight ground frost this morning on the grass at 6am when out with dogs, a few crunchy bits and it felt cold in the wind. But overcast, grey, breezy and some drizzle thrown in!! Magic BUT…..alas is the return of colder weather on its way in Feb?! If you are a daily express fan then a “double snow wall will hit Britain in a 4 day barrage” apparently 3rd -6th Feb causing disruption…….. have a great day folks…..I’m away down Willy hill to stick a couple of quid on it…not happening
  8. Just been out with the dog and the thaws on. Temp currently 3.8c with a fresh wind. Onto the next cold chase then
  9. couple of beefy showers passed through in last hour or so. Wasn’t much fun being out in them….looked like the abominable snowman…..and jnr was moaning he was getting blasted by snow a fine end to the day though after 2 lots of sledging.
  10. Looking at temps on the met app, doesn’t look like we get higher 7/8° middle of next week with a feel like of 2/3/4° donuts not going to be time to get the bbq’s out again….unless you’re already one of those mentalists who uses theirs all year round lol going by the bin top which I cleared last night we had a good 2.5-3” of snow fall last night which is amazing for here on the coast. wind seems to have picked up and there is powdery snow blowing around. Absolutely Baltic but a gorgeous winters day. Felt very alpine walking the dogs earlier
  11. Im Taking a wfh day. Cars getting stuck on slip road to a90 and it’s blocked so just staying at hame lol
  12. What’s it like in Aberdeen??? Trying to decide whether I go into work or just take a snow day! A90 is a joke again as are the local roads here.
  13. I’ve been up and down that many times to look out window the dog thinks she’s going out only to be disappointed
  14. Fair intensity of the current snow blob. Heaviest of the current spell by far. Early dinner and out only with jnr before bed….not sure who’s more excited me aged 41 or him at 7
  15. Could be some more disruption tonight with drifting if the wind picks up to the circa 30mph gusts forecast suggest for tonight!! met has me down for showers from 4pm today till late tomorrow night so will see if wee can get a little top up again. temp was -3 this morning and car showed -7 on way to work. Bitterly cold day with the clear sky and light wind.
  16. Hopefully the more seasoned posters like @Kirkcaldy Weather might make comment on the implications for us if winds have shifted to easterly flow up high
  17. On the app there is a little drop down that says how accurate is the forecast….i was informed a while ago that this is fed back into the matrix to help its learn…could be bollo**s though!!
