  1. Only got 1's and 2's over the Leicester area, so I don't think we are going to get anything other than a dusting from this. I do wonder if we will ever see a 30cm+ dumping in our area. Heck even 20cm+.
  2. Whelp... all hopes are now pinned on the GFS I guess....
  3. Kind of weird how Arpege and Hirlam go south and GFS and EURO4 go north.
  4. I'll whip out the Ouija board and bring you here in spirit.
  5. Unfortunately this is pretty common.
  6. BBC is just MeteoGroup these days as far as i'm aware. I use their WeatherPro app and it does seem quite good. Would reccomend it.
  7. To be honest I was really referencing their warnings and written forecast, I ignore the Met Office app/symbols and they're nearly always complete junk.
  8. The Met Office forecast was most accurate IMO, unsurprisingly... I think Arpege/Hirlam both overdid the amount of snow when it fell as rain/sleet for the majority.
  9. I'm not an expert at all but last winter it seemed to be pretty good, very accurate on a few occasions. I regularly compared it's output to the radar scans. Seemed a bit better than Arpege atleast.
  10. Why can't Met Office post their high res models publicly, selfish buggers I do get why really. I'd just really like to have access to them..
  11. I guess, but the overall intensity seems significantly reduced. A weaker system etc, which seems to be par for the course as you approach T0, anecdotally at least,
  12. Does anyone smarter than me know why models so frequently downgrade closer to T0 and very rarely upgrade ?
  13. Still over 24 hours away... enough time for corrections to the northern extent. Fingers crossed.
  14. Mehhh, it's all good. I run my own weather model made using Excel formulas and it reckons 50cm of snow for the entire midlands area
  15. Just do what I do and ignore any runs that aren't upgrades
  16. I kinda took "fun for rest of midlands" as meaning everyone outside of Stoke . If not fair enough. Our time will come one of these winters...
  17. Idk why you think you're the only one in the dry... I've literally not seen a flake fall out the sky this entire winter around here.
  18. Well it was basically 4 to 5c here and there wasn't even a hint of sleet let alone snow Meh, roll on Thursday.
  19. That's true lol. Though... it's a sad state of affairs that i'd actually be willing to get stuck at work if it meant witnessing a large snowfall (15cm+)
  20. Our work just moved head office, so I got a bit excited thinking... hey maybe this office is at a higher elevation. I checked and we're at 68 meters Oh well.
  21. You can bet your £'s that it's correct.
  22. Doesn't look like METO are going for it tonight. Only warning is for up north. Temps hovering around the 2c or 3c area for much of midlands, so might just be on the wrong side of marginal for most.
  23. Looks like potential for snow on Friday night. I love snow, but this time, i'm going to have to hope it doesn't come to pass.. i'm off to Birmingham airport at 1am on Saturday!. Clear roads please! then hopefully it snows bucket loads for you guys the following week while I am in France :)
