Only got 1's and 2's over the Leicester area, so I don't think we are going to get anything other than a dusting from this.
I do wonder if we will ever see a 30cm+ dumping in our area. Heck even 20cm+.
To be honest I was really referencing their warnings and written forecast, I ignore the Met Office app/symbols and they're nearly always complete junk.
The Met Office forecast was most accurate IMO, unsurprisingly...
I think Arpege/Hirlam both overdid the amount of snow when it fell as rain/sleet for the majority.
I'm not an expert at all but last winter it seemed to be pretty good, very accurate on a few occasions. I regularly compared it's output to the radar scans. Seemed a bit better than Arpege atleast.
I guess, but the overall intensity seems significantly reduced. A weaker system etc, which seems to be par for the course as you approach T0, anecdotally at least,
That's true lol. Though... it's a sad state of affairs that i'd actually be willing to get stuck at work if it meant witnessing a large snowfall (15cm+)
Our work just moved head office, so I got a bit excited thinking... hey maybe this office is at a higher elevation.
I checked and we're at 68 meters Oh well.
Doesn't look like METO are going for it tonight. Only warning is for up north. Temps hovering around the 2c or 3c area for much of midlands, so might just be on the wrong side of marginal for most.
Looks like potential for snow on Friday night. I love snow, but this time, i'm going to have to hope it doesn't come to pass.. i'm off to Birmingham airport at 1am on Saturday!. Clear roads please! then hopefully it snows bucket loads for you guys the following week while I am in France :)
