It's always at least 2 or 3 degrees too low.
Are you sure ? ECM predicted 18/19c for my area at 9am today, and Met Office observations are reporting it's only 17c at 10am.

Another 1 or 2cm overnight. I measured just short of 7cm on the sheltered table in my garden last night, so getting awfully close to 10cm by the end of today here now if the streamers keep up. And still snowing moderate heavy as I look out of the window...
I can't ever remember beeing under a streamer for 24+ hours. I guess I have to thank the snow gods for once.

That's why I asked how much snow lol barely a couple of inches.
Probably same for sheikhy as me. In areas that were out of the sun during the day and out of the wind there is 5 to 10cm. In areas exposed to the sun and wind there is only 1/2 or 1/4 of that.

Snowing and settling nicely now the sun has gone. Got really lucky today, have been bang in line for the streamer all day. 5cm or so, maybe more towards 10cm in place. Varies by place depending on wind exposure.

Must've had a few dozen snow showers today, moderate and even heavy at times, but it really has barely accumulated at all. Had more lieing snow at the start of the day. Nice to watch but im a bit dissapointed and confused as to how it failed to really settle beyond what we had overnight. Fingers crossed for some more tonight and tomorrow!

Got about 1 to 2cm here now. Melting on the roads and roofs but accumulating elsewhere.
-
Despite frequent showers, the snow is melting faster than it is settling.

Moderate snow and some more intense showers actually aligned to hit me for once, almost can't believe it
-
Snowing moderately here now, just starting to settle on the pavement, cars, rooftops etc

Agreed many times I have sat and watched the streamer or lines of showers go through market bosworth and which about 5 miles north of here
You know we've now jinxed it... they will go south of us

Aye... according to the MetOffice app my village is due for 18hours of non stop snow, heavy at times. Over 24hours if you count one dry hour... that would be amazing. In terms of IMBYism, my experience with these streamer shows is they go through north Leicestershire, derby and notts more often than not and so tend not hit me. But I have tomorrow off work so I will be on here at midnight and staying up if people are doing well off them

All I can hear on the window is rain... doh!. One day I will buy a house 800 meters up in the northern pennines just so i can get reliable snow. I will still come back here to cheer you all on
Not really though because I can't even afford one house. But one can dream !.

Streamers are cool but hard for me to get excited about. My experience with them is they are always north or south of my location but fingers crossed that someone does well off them!

That’s about right for wet snow. For the dry snow we will have this time it’s more like 1.4cm of snow for every 1mm of rain.
Wow that's a lot. I always thought 1mm = 1cm was about best case scenario. Well, I hope you're right!

Talk that is moved 100 miles north ? Surely that’s a good thing for Midlands / South Yorkshire regards snow ?
Yes, probably. As far as I understand it anyway. The latest GFS is apparently an outlier, neither UKMO or ECM agree with it, nor do the others. So it's either an outlier or ahead of the curve.
Personally - and I mean no offence to anyone on this website - but I tend to just trust the Met Office. There have been times they are wrong but more often than not they provide a more accurate forecast than you will find on here (and so they should). MetO have us down for snow in this region and the UKMO still looks great. So i'm remaining hopeful.

Dead again!!so light i just dont understand!!
Im South Leicestershire and it keeps changing between heavy and light, but overall coming down nicely. I think it's blowing around a lot in the atmosphere as others have alluded too.

About 5cm here, snowing steadily. Really hoping it remains as snow all day but forecast predicts it turning to rain this afternoon, which will sure make it a mess outside.
