  1. Jacob more reinforcement soon after though with colder uppers.
  2. could be a cracker this, if the cold pool decides to take more of a fancy to the Atlantic troughing rather than siberian vortex segment.
  3. raz.org.rain Wonder how long this 6 inches an hour will go on for?, if it goes on all day, that'll be 144 inches of lying snow!
  4. Met Office's verdict on snow wall bringing six inches per hour that could fall 'anywhere' - Bristol Live WWW.BRISTOLPOST.CO.UK The white stuff is expected to fall at the start of next month
  5. This charade just illustrates how garbage the modelling has been this winter, Ali1977 you're quite right there's decent ens support for a decent dumping at day 5 as far south as the south midlands, however every respected forecasting organisation says a N Pennines affair at best, probably Scotland and 7-11 max temps.
  6. That 12z run had the 10mb u-wind down at a shattering -28 m/s.
  7. What a reversal!, wished we could just save it up as a phone a friend for next January.
  8. That is the one we want, a proper burial job. That would bring memories from Dec 2010 for Liverpool & preston flooding back.
  9. bluearmy Eps 0z consistent with 12z FI split though to e fair.
  10. Blimey we have had some erratic strat modelling this year, we've got the split now with the Canadian segment stronger, the other week it was the Siberian segment stronger.
  11. Saint coolio Great then, you might not need an SSW in Edinburgh, you could get battered without!, never look a gift horse in the mouth!
  12. Pinhead27 Its the stratospheric 10mb height chart, whilst it isn't a far and wide split its the EPS mean at 360 hours so you wouldn't expect that, that does look indicative of a big westerly zonal wind drop off in a few weeks time, possibly a big & sustained reversal to Easterlies, though that is yet to be decided, if so it still has to propagate the boundary layer into the troposphere (also to be confirmed), if both of those occurred, it *COULD* lead to a prolonged spell of well below average temperatures.
  13. Would agree but early thoughts from me is it could still pack a punch when it does, a lot of cold air could be bottled up & ready to go.
