  1. Good, the colder their army gets the better. Knowing our luck it won't plan out like that and we'll get bitter cold when we or nature doesn't want it.
  2. If you were wanting to blow a good deal of your hard earned on the central heating, then I suppose they are indeed horrifying. I'm a cold lover, but these are fabulous charts if they come off this year. Just no damaging winds please! Have a good Christmas everyone
  3. Not sure if anyone you have left the now increasingly defunct Twitter for Mastodon, but it offers great potential for like minded folk to gather and enjoy our weather interest,in 'dedicated' servers. I've just found retired Met Forecaster @T2mike@mastodonapp.uk Give him a follow always good to show some love, his posts have cracking detail. Happy Christmas, Cheers!
  4. In 2010 I was stationed in Loftus,East Cleveland. I stood on the cliff at Skinningrove, watched the showers actually form over the water and then dump CMs at a time over us. No models/ snow depth charts, can see that. What we do know is the wind will turn E ENE, and that for us turns on N.Sea convection snow showers. Fabulous stuff!!!!
  5. They'll be ok because they are not in the U.K anyway Had a few easterlies when I was living down there though.
  6. Absolutely, forgive me for a now post on this forum, but it's snowing heavily with me in Middlesbrough right now, after rain and wind all day yesterday as this low now pulls in from the NE on its back edge, the change to snow is so quick, you can only to think something is afoot this year.
  7. How to read synoptic weather charts WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Find out what the lines, arrows and letters mean on synoptic weather charts.
  8. Looking at around the 11th for the wind to start changing direction, giving some relief to us in the N.E. (Middlesbrough) Another dull week to go yet. That'll be 1 sunny day out of 23? By the time it shifts... Remarkably stubborn weather pattern.
  9. He sees into the future like he owns it! May be it will be a little different this year... #lowsolaractivity
  10. Yes and it's bin day again!! They better turn out today lol I've loads for them!
  11. Poor from both beeb and met by the looks?? I only watch met you tube channel for forecast now,and they also had this as a 'just over high ground event' I'm only 150m asl. Very heavy at moment and settled easily.
  12. https://weatherandradar.com. This one,I've used it for Teeside showers this week and it's been spot on.
  13. Weather&Radar app seems happy to see precip extend from the south to our region this evening, hmmm
  14. Gutted for you mate, especially with your location!! Mind you we all want a bit of weather extremes that's our passion, but we in Teeside now have a Red Alert from the Met,and the roads are dreadfull, the hospital will be straining etc...double edged sword is our passion....
  15. Think it's fair to say we're getting a pasting now,and that thunder snow was terrific!
