there are fresh weather warnings out for the Midlands tonight. There are non posts about it, so i take it they are a 'waste' of time?

and how embarrassing was the TV this morning, the usual ramping up, showing snow ploughs, for what?!!!!!!

What was all the fuss about eh, days hours and even weeks of ramping discussing and talking about - this non event. W ell we should have known, it was only ever a yellow warning . Not seen an amber warning, ever! Greece get 2 m we don't even get 2mm!!!

Is it still worth driving up to the peak district to see snow, where is best?

What's the chances for the Midlands - Leics ? I didn't even think snow was on the cards tonight ? But I think I am too central to see the fun....

Snowsie - I was also a Saturday 'woolies girl'! I remember walking to work sat am of that snow fall, roads were not even visible! Got to work and the power went down! So was sent home but still got paid for turning up! I remember the lovely blue poly pinafore well!! And the blue striped shirts Lols. No electricity or water for 3-4 days, remember flushing the toilet with melted snow! Fav memories. This was in Mansfield Notts.

yes you are right really, but feel the need to not waste the day and go and find the snow!!!! Unfortunatley i don't have winter tyres and not the most confident of drivers in the snow if I'm honest, but Im just so excited...!

What side of Hinckley are you tornado - we barely got a couple of cm off - near nutts lane!

It was heavy snow here around half an hour ago. Now it appears nothing till I opened the back door and realised it is raining, light.. Looking forward for once to go to work tomorrow, Coalville always get it worse than here in Hinckley.... Saw a surprise amount of snow last weds when Hinckley never had a flake!!

gutted we missed the snow, it sounded truly amazing to watch, even if its arrival would be only temporary

the best part, for me, is seeing snow fall, being out in it whilst its falling. its a shame therefore it will get to us sooo late, i wanted to be out in it, for what it may be the last time this winter.... i may be the daft one then wrapped up and walking the streets later then!!!!!!

Well amazing day, made the most of it, sledging, snow angels, made a snowman and an igloo.... Walked in it, kicking it and just taking it all in. absolute bliss! Hope you all made the most of it too. It's great watching it, dreaming of it, but need to be out in it and make the most of it. Now drinking a large glass of wine and remembering the magic of it.! We have at least 20 cm on a flat surdpface, more on the grass and whee it's drifted. Truly amazing here. Happy

Heavy snow symbols now showing for Hinckley on met office website, at 12 and 3pm. Woop. They are obviously not so concerned though, as still only yellow warning...
