  1. Woke up to another nice dusting. Fairly steady sizzle much of the morning.
  2. Some big flakes now. Think there's still some rain in with though, and nothing settling.
  3. Still sleet here, although there seems to be more snow in the mix in the last half hour or so.
  4. Radar suggests it should be snowing lightly here... It ain't. Bit of drizzle (definitely drizzle not snizzle) and pretty icy.
  5. It seems surprisingly there's literally nothing coming off the North Sea in this strong easterly wind. Especially as it's so cloudy and there's clearly moisture about (there's a hint of snizzle every now and then).
  6. It's clear, as far as I know. There have been some issues with drifting, so it might be slow in places, and some of the backroads in Skipton itself are very icy with compacted snow, etc. But the main route should be okay.
  7. Can anyone confirm if the very localised showers showing on the radar are real? Some v close to us around Skipton (but not a direct hit). Some more near Harrogate / Knaresborough. They seemed to just appear, rather than being part of the big bulk of snow to the south west or having moved across the east.
  8. Met Office has snow for us from about midnight, with heavy snow around 2 in the morning, but I can't see where it's coming from. They also now seem to agree with the BBC that we might get sleet and rain from Sunday pm.
  9. Although there seem to random small showers appearing from nowhere on the radar.
  10. Doesn’t look like we will get more tonight despite the amber warning.
  11. I'm sure we've more than 2013 or 2010 here (we're very close to you, Cowdog, but in the valley (not actually in Skipton) - I think there was a lot more on the tops in 2013 than down here.
  12. Interesting - just looking at that. Doesn't seem to be mentioned in any forecasts for the region.
  13. (Having said that, this stuff seems to have been appearing from nowhere for a few hours...)
  14. Looks like we're getting to the end of this snow (although quite a bit coming down at the moment). Is anything coming along behind it, or do we think it'll be a quieter afternoon? The radar doesn't seem to show much in the sea (other than further north).
  15. We've got more than 2010 here now. (Obviously 2010 it stuck around for a very long time). Still coming down like mad. Going to have a wander in it shortly, see what the roads are like.
