Crikey, that puts everything into perspective. I trust she makes a speedy recovery, bigsnow.

Talking of old friends, anyone seen Bishop Brennan recently? He's normally round the fireplace too...?
I'm still here, Fizz!!!
Just waiting for the weather to turn a little more interesting, fingers crossed we might see at least a bit of the white stuff by this time tomorrow

Vile, disgusting, abhorrent
I think it's safe to say you're not particularly enjoying the weather right now, isn't it Blizzy?

One or two flashes to the east, but they seem very distant.
Looks like the SE and East Anglia are getting hit quite hard tonight..........just for a change

Never happens when snow's on the menu Bish
I know, tell me about it lol
Properly belting it down right now, and barely a wisp on the radar. All very odd.

The current conditions show how misleading rain radars can occasionally appear - it's extremely wet right now, and yet barely a trace of anything on RainToday.

Cold today especially in comparison to last week.
And just to prove your point, it's currently 15.9°C here whereas at the same time exactly a week ago it was 30.5°C

Note to self: if I ever decide to leave Solihull never, ever move to Shropshire!!!!
I'm gutted for you guys, not rubbing it in but you really did miss something special last night.
As for possible scientific reasons: I'm guessing Shropshire's close proximity to the higher ground to the west (aka Wales) must have something to do with it.........?

Awesome light show out to my east - Coventry must be getting slammed right now.

I was about to clock in for the night, but we appear to have an encore heading in from the south. Not as intense, but still pretty to watch.

The storm is rapidly moving away to our north now. Any forumers reading this from Nuneaton, Atherstone, Tamworth - you're in for a real treat!
Great stuff.

Biblical amounts of rain here now. This is one helluva storm!
Bish

What an incredible sight to behold.
And here comes the rain, torrents of it.....

This already gets a 10/10 from me - I love a good night-time thunderstorm, me
Scary forked lightning everywhere to my south and west.
Bish

Awesome forked lightning due south, and increasingly loud thunder.
Incoming!

Just started raining here.
Lot's of flashes to the west - that must be the Blizzy/Gord storm. But there are also some intense - and very beautiful - flashes directly to my south, albeit in the distance still.

Morning Bish!
Did I just hear a rumble then...? (Can't hear over the fan - too hot to turn it off!)
Fizz
Good Lord, it's the lesser spotted Fizz! How the devil are you?
I can see some quite frequent flashes to our SW, but they still seem fairly distant tbh. But I'm definitely hearing some rumbles out there.........

At last, things are starting to look a lot more interesting!
Bish

Occasional flashes to my south and east, but they seem very distant. No thunder.
Bish

Wow that storm just to the south of Bournemouth must be pretty intense.
Sferics starting to appear near Hereford.
That's good...
Not sure I can spot anything, Gord?

I think we need to be looking down towards the Weymouth area. That could give us some interest here later.
Depending on other developments of course.
Well it's looking pretty promising down in that neck of the woods right now, plenty of activity kicking off..........

Radar updated for good!
That looks rather encouraging! What sort of time is that projected for, xStorm?
