      Scorcher

I loved July 2006 but the charts have more of a 1976 look to them tonight I think! Check out June 29th 1976- not too dissimilar to what the ECM is showing at some points tonight!

Great advice from Karl83, I would always make a back up of all your precious data to an external device, Clickfree is very easy to use for novices

Cheers for the advice folks, fingers crossed the tech man will be able to wave a magic wand and all will be well with the world once again - but I'm not holding my breath.

  13. This time last year I recorded my warmest temperature of 2012, 28.4c. Not much chance of the same happening today!

    1. Bottesford

      Bottesford

Hard to believe that its worse this year despite how poor last year was.

Although overall I've preferred this spring as its not been so wet and we've seen some sun. Stuff has grown albeit a month behind.

    2. Bishop Brennan

      Bishop Brennan

Indeed. The warm spell during the final week of May was pretty much as good as it got in 2012.

    3. Evening thunder

      Evening thunder

25th May last year I recorded my highest temp since 2006. I definitely preferred last spring to this one, record warmth (21C) in late March, quite a few convective shower days in April with thunder and hail, and a late may very warm/hot spell. No such things this spring (and minimal snow/frost interest either) with the highest temp just 17.4C!! over 10C lower than last springs high (talking about home in East Devon here)

  14. Good grief, it's already just 4.3c outside and it's not even midnight yet. Have we upset the weather gods?

    1. Evening thunder

      Evening thunder

I had -0.8c at this time of year in 2010 in Devon and 1.9c on June 11th 2011. I am in a valley though.(flowers were alright as far as I remember)

    2. Bishop Brennan

      Bishop Brennan

lol, 1.9c in the middle of June!

    3. Evening thunder

      Evening thunder

I think it was quite unusual, mind at the end of August 2010 I had 3.0c with a slight ground frost seen! That's probably quite rare.

Despite these low mins it didn't get below -4.4c this winter (or -2.4c between 11th December and 3rd March)!, just milder than the 2006/7 and 2007/8 mild winters' absolute lows lol.

  18. May Day 2012 was one of the dullest, wettest bank holidays I can ever remember. Quite a contrast to this year! :-)

      nn2013

Glorious day! Funny thing is Bank Holiday 2012 I was doing DIY (just begun my six month stint in a house in Tipton say no more), and today decorating my flat in Weston. Been out on the beach and off for a stroll tonight.

That's what I thought. By the same point in 2012, we'd had 28 air frosts.

  22. Yes!!! 20.1c at 14:20pm!!!

    1. Summer Sun

      Summer Sun

And with the cloud and sunny intervals in Darlington we've a high of 16.7c not bad but its almost 7 months since we hit 20c here

    2. reef

      reef

Strangely we just crept up to 20.2C here on the 14th April, which was actually the third earliest date in the year to do so in 34 years.

    3. Evening thunder

      Evening thunder

16.9C here today, not 20C but felt quite warm and very nice. Not sure when we'll see 20C IMBY, last year of course we did it in March, very unusual for near the south coast in Devon!

    1. UV-RAY

    2. Milhouse

      Milhouse

There are buds on some trees round here just waiting for the first mild spell of the year. Thankfully they and i dont have to wait much longer. Today has been yet another dull and cold day.

    3. karyo

      karyo

Winter didn't come early, there were some early wintry episodes and then the lengthy mild spell of Dec - mid Jan. After that things improved and of course March was the star month!
