  1. A bit too early to say, to be honest. I think the further north one is, the greater the chance of seeing something wintry. Bish
  2. Ha, I absolutely love that story! A true weather nutcase (and I mean that in a complimentary way) When you guys were getting pasted on Boxing Day, I have to confess to spending some time admiring the various 'asl' readings for the Peak District - very, very envious. I even checked on property prices in Buxton! Bish
  3. Snow in Telford? That's just crazy talk!Bish
  4. Just a sugar dusting of snow in Knowle. And yet we had plenty of 'direct hits' re the showery activity last night. Still, something is better than nothing! Good to have you back on here, Ian Bish
  5. Better than nothing though, Fizz. At least we can say we've seen *some* snow this winter A few bits & bobs still incoming from the west. Bish
  6. Lovely big flakes now, and sticking a bit as well Bish
  7. Indeed. The Solihull Snow Shield seems to be in full working order tonight Bish
  8. Mix of rain, sleet & snow here. Temperature doesn't seem to want to drop below 2°C Bish
  9. Fingers crossed, Fozy! We'll try & leave some for yourself as well Bish
  10. Yep, plus the various showers lining up to the south of Ireland as well - those should hopefully be headed our way later this evening, if they can stay intact Bish
  11. shhhh Arnie, don't jinx it! Seriously though, the radar does look pretty juicy for later on. Just need this colder air to get nicely embedded, then away we go Bish
  12. Absolutely MAGICAL scenes up here at 122m asl.......... What's it doing down at 121m, Dancer? Bish
  13. A mix of rain, sleet, & snow in Solihull at the moment. Some bigger flakes starting to appear now..... Bish
  14. The temperature is dropping fast, already down to 2.7°C (Dp 0.9°C) Plenty of showers heading into the SW - but they reach this far north later on? Looks a bit touch & go, we'll see. Bish
  15. Ha, yes you are right!!!!! Just looked out the window again and it has just started coming down! YAY! Bish
  16. Steady rain here at the moment. Temp is 3.2°C with a Dp of 1.1°C Bish
  17. Snowsie, can I ask a nosy question? Is the amazing pic in your avatar taken around here (i.e. Solihull park perhaps), or from somewhere else? It looks like a scene from December 2010 maybe. Bish
  18. Although those charts look very promising, BBC Midlands Today don't seem to make much of the snow risk at all. Who to believe? Bish
  19. Hmmm, interesting........ If there is a possibility of snow for the SW, that strikes me as being good news for us further north i.e. the Midlands. Bish
  20. Incredibly windy last night, especially in the early hours. All sorts of things blown over in the back garden. Big drop in temperatures currently taking place, it was an astonishing 13.7°C here at half past four this morning whereas now it has already dropped to 7.3°C Bish
  21. We had about an hour or two of quite heavy snow on Boxing Day evening, which had just started to accumulate nicely when it abruptly turned to heavy rain instead! Bish
  22. Indeed, at long last some interesting weather coming up. The past few weeks (bar Boxing Day) have been rather dull, in more ways than one. How long did your snow stick around for, Radders? Bish
  23. Steady rain since half past seven this morning. Currently 8.1°C Despite it being over a week into January, can you believe I actually had to capture a large hornet which had somehow found its way indoors last night? It was on its last legs from what I could tell, but nonetheless I would have expected them to have died off several weeks ago? Vicious looking thing as well. Bish
  24. I knew the PV was especially strong last year, but hadn't realised it was literally the strongest ever recorded. As a matter of interest, how is PV strength measured? And and which point of Winter 2013/14 was it at it's most potent? Bish
