  1. Light rain here in Knowle, and the skies to the S and SE are finally starting to look a little threatening......... Bish
  2. It's as dead as a dodo here right now, no hint of storm activity whatsoever. Just a perfectly pleasant early-summer evening with plenty of hazy sunshine. Bish
  3. Pleasant sunshine here, but certainly pretty humid. Judging by the latest radar returns, I reckon the SW quadrant of the region should be in for some fun & games very shortly. Still too early to say for the rest of us. Bish
  4. Yes, the Met Office seem confident of the chance for some action round these parts later this afternoon. It certainly feels muggy enough right now. Currently 21.1°C with a dp of 15.9°C Bish
  5. I wonder whatever went wrong with poor old RainToday? It was the main goto site for many people for a long time but then, about a couple of years ago, it suddenly started glitching? So odd that it works for some of the time, but not for the rest. It's Twitter feed hasn't updated since 2012, so it's pretty much a zombie site now. A real shame. Bish
  6. Rain Alarm (http://rain-alarm.com) is a pretty good radar as well, Dancer. I use it all the time now that RainToday seems to be permanently glitched. Bish
  7. Very true! Monkspath Weather Station recorded a whopping 36.25mm of rain on Friday plus a further 22.75mm on Sunday, a huge amount to fall within such a short period of time. And other areas very nearby to here would, of course, have witnessed even higher totals. Bish
  8. I think areas such as Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon might getting a glancing blow, but probably not anywhere further north - we'll see! Surprised at the comparative lack of electrical activity down there so far. Bish
  9. Agreed, this region needs a brief pause in the rainfall so the current excess can drain away. I took a walk around Hockley Heath earlier this morning, and noticed plenty of large patches of floodwater in the surrounding fields. Bish
  10. Looks like the SE are really on the receiving end this morning. At least we've got a bit of hazy sunshine here today, better than nothing. Currently 18.8°C with a dp of 14.3°C Bish
  11. Well, we finally have a beautiful cloudless sky here...........just in time for sunset! Bish
  12. It's disappeared again now though, Dancer! We had a bit of weak sunshine a short while ago, but it's clouded over again Bish
  13. That's a promising sign for the rest of us. It's still grey here, but looking at the radar the northern extent of the cloud mass is finally starting to thin and fragment. Bish
  14. Battleship-grey skies here, and not even a hint of the sun making an appearance so far. Fascinating how conditions can vary so much across our little part of the world. Bish
  15. Fascinating stuff. I noticed something similar at around the same time - i.e. that the clouds seemed to be moving in the 'wrong' direction. Incidentally, now that darkness has fallen I can see that the sky to our SE is flickering quite frequently - surely the Milton Keynes storm is too far away to be spotted here? Bish
  16. Things are really kicking off now! Constant rumbling in the distance, and according to the radar a n explosion of activity to both the NW and SE of here. The storm near Leamington Spa should hopefully starting shifting in this direction Bish
  17. The latest Estofex storm forecast has a Level 2 slap bang over the Midlands, valid from 06:00 Sunday to 06:00 Monday........... http://www.estofex.org/ Looks like the next day or two could be very interesting! Bish
  18. Absolutely stunning here, not a cloud in the sky and we are already at 22.2°C before midday. We might even just nudge above 25°C, well above what was forecast. Bish
  19. We reached 26.2°C here a short while ago, stunning stuff for this time of the year. Bish
  20. Yaaaaaay, just recorded our first 20.0°C of the year here!!!! Exactly one month on from the ice day of March 18th, in fact this time last month we were shivering at -0.4°C right now Bish
  21. I've only just noticed we actually chalked up our first 15°C max of 2018 today here, and also the first since 22nd November last year. Give it another couple of weeks and it'll be t-shirt weather Bish
  22. MIA, did you manage to measure the snow depth at any point yesterday? I intended to do so myself but it completely slipped my mind! My guesstimate is that we ended up with about 5cm or so round these parts, perhaps slightly more. Bish
  23. lol but that's well over ten days away, Dancer!! Still, nothing wrong with dreaming I've only just realised that yesterday was officially an Ice Day here, with us only reaching a high of -0.2°C around midday. Of the eighteen Ice Days I have recorded since the end of 2004, yesterday was by far the latest in the season. Indeed, only two others fell outside the winter months - 28th November 2010 and of course 1st March 2018. Bish
  24. I'm amazed at how strong this wind has been today, some really huge gusts. Easy to see why these showers are blowing through so quickly. Currently 0.6°C with a dp of -6.2°C Bish
  25. This is a lot of fun All afternoon, the pattern here has basically been: Sunny / Cloudy / Mini-blizzard then back to Sunny again before the next lot moves in Bish
