Nothing remotely cold showing in the models, makes me happy. Lower power bills, fewer accidents for pensioners etc.
Would like the entire Winter to be frost-free.

Nothing remotely cold showing in the models - question is: how long will the current warmth last?
I'd bet on March being the coldest 'Winter' month.

13C in Edinburgh at 6 this morning - there have been a few days like this. I see nothing in the models to show any cold for the forseeable future, just a slight and brief cooling down coming over the weekend.

Well. we all see things differently thankfully or the world would be a very boring place, however, unusually for me, I posted charts to back up my earlier post and really struggled to find anything mild apart from fleeting incursions through low res. What I did see was a lot of cold anticyclonic weather until later next week further SE and further ahead, a lot of polar maritimes incursion and a cranking up atlantic with more energy pumping into the southern arm of the jet with occasional bouts of cold, stormy and wintry weather, especially but not exclusively further north.
I struggle to see anything cold in the output - it looks like the Atlantic will fire up.

I'm mowing my lawn again today.

It's snowing here in Murrayfield/Roseburn.
-
No snow here - another non-event like Monday.
-
Thanks, LSS, I feel we have missed out a bit so far.

So, is there likely to be any snow in Edinburgh?
Because, atm, it's 5c and sunny - I can't see it happening.

Cold here in Edinburgh - up to 0.4c today, I think, so not quite an ice-day.
Don't think I'll bet on snow for Christmas Day, given the models
-
So a 'cool' few days then back to the zonal SW'erlys.. suits me.
-
The wind isn't really the thing... it's more the June-like temperatures.

Merry Christmas to everyone...
At least people will be able to get around easily this year.. and we'll all save a bit on the fuel bills.
-
I fully expect Edinburgh to hit 14C on Sunday.
-
Well, I've switched the heating off, opened a few windows and it's really comfortable sitting around without a jumper.
Maybe this Sunday Leith can beat that old Christmas record.. I hope so, I love the mild weather.

The week doesn't look particularly cold or snowy, (except on Northern hills) a few cool days then a swift return to South Westerlies.
