    Had maybe an additional inch overnight to add to our 2-3 we already had. Not the most we have ever had but certainly not a bad haul. Schools closed today so at least kids are getting a bit of fun. Just had a wee flurry which may be our last of this spell. Must admit, it’s been a thoroughly enjoyable week on here with all the pics. The next few days and the thaw will be very much less enjoyable.

    Some amount of snow showing on radar for further north. Wind seems to coming straight from North now. Hopefully we will see a few showers over night. Certainly an interesting few hours radar/lampost watching

    I wonder if the met office are updating the weather warnings. Aberdeen City Council has tweeted about the city having an Amber warning. Or more likely the CC have got it completely wrong.

    Looks like we have been unlucky with the showers this evening with most moving south of us. Both Met office and Beeb mentioning the possibility of heavy snow on Friday before milder conditions move in.

    Lightest of snow falling here also on the coast. Has got quite gloomy as well. Will be interesting to see what the next few hours brings. Wasn’t really expecting any further snow this far east. Are there accurate radar apps out there or are they all much the same ? I’ve been using NWs own one which seems decent

    Looking good for the central belt and west to see some of the white stuff. Noticed on the met office video forecast there was also potential overnight for the east coast but nothing showing in any apps yet. Just getting bit greedy now. The showers today have been short but heavy. Probably added another inch or so. Looks like there is a steam of these showers heading in our direction over next couple of hours as well.

    About an inch has fallen here overnight. Local school opening delayed until 10. City seems to have had quite a lot more. Just nipped out to check drive and it actually felt more like light rain that was falling.

    Light covering here on the coast. Radar showing a few more showers to hit in the next couple of hours. Will be interesting to see how much we get overnight.

    Not sure if we will see a lot , if any of the white stuff next week but something is definitely brewing out there. I haven’t been on the sherry’s ( yet ), but you can almost smell it. Am up in Ellon and it’s absolutely baltic. Looking forward to see what the next week will bring. I get a feeling some of you will get absolutely pasted. Looking forward to the pics..

    The skies above Aberdeen city centre this afternoon was stunning.

    The AWPR drive is a great experience for appreciating the differences in weather just a wee bit inland and at higher level. Rain in Balmedie but just a few miles inland ( Dyce ) was dinging down with quite large (albeit wet ) flames of snow.

    Bit of Bobby Ewing moment this am…Looked out and snow has completely thawed… Was last week just a dream? can’t recall when I have last seen fairly significant snow disappearing so quickly particuarly overnight

    +5 degrees on the east coast and snow/ice starting to disappear at a pace. Was a decent first cold snap of the season though. Let’s just see what the run up to Xmas brings us. Would be nice to get some of the white stuff but it will be what will be. Dipped my toe into the mad house briefly and came straight out again.. Unfortunately the respected posters are being drowned out by some complete zoomers .

    Some superb photos on show today. Great to see so much of the country with a wee blanket on. Hopefully the kids will get out to enjoy it while it’s here. Must admit it’s been a pretty decent start to the Winter season although it would have been nice to have been a week later. It does look like we will need to enjoy it while it lasts though. Hopefully next week just a blip before we get another blast.

    Very heavy snow in Westhill and settling. Radar has it passing through for next 20 mins or so.

    Had another covering overnight but now raining on coast. Definitely not as cold as it has been. Eldest in major grump this am as city schools still open

    We got maybe an inch over night. Nothing major but enough to close the Primary school in Balmedie. Eldest child not impressed as the city academy’s are open.

    Positively tropical here on the east coast compared to a lot of you at -4.5… Next couple of days will be interesting for snow fall for some.

    It does look as if there is growing agreement to be a breakdown of sorts this weekend but to be honest I wouldn’t look that far ahead. Possibly quite a bit of snow this week for the north and east ( depending on what forecast app you use ) . Met office again just has rain for the east coast. Inland could again get a good covering. Baltic out there at the moment though. Brilliant night for star watching.

    Good to see most folks getting to see the white stuff. Absolutely chucking it with rain/sleet here. Snow disappearing quickly. Ventured out to the Tyrebagger with kids to get Xmas tree. Amazing how quickly the rain turns to snow just a mile or two inland.

    Got a decent couple of cms here on the east coast. Sounds like it’s melting quite quickly mind you judging by the water pouring through a hole in my gutter

    Heavy snow now in Westhill. Not lying as yet but won’t be long before it does imo.

    Forecasts seem to be going with a sleety mix for here right on the coast. A wee bit further inland could get a right dumping on Wed into Thursday. What happens after that is anyones guess.

    Even got a covering here on the east coast. Some dark clouds out to sea at the moment.
