Wind has really picked up now and it is now snowing horizontally from that shower I posted earlier. Two snow showers in one season! Must be a new record

Lots of ice out there this morning. Had a few heavy showers before daybreak and turned everything into an ice rink. Multiple accidents reported in the area !

Evening all, good to hear Torbay the greatest anti-snow dome in the world getting some tonight.
Models have made a real mess of forecasting precipitation this week, hoping it'll be wrong in my favour in the Solent tonight, it's clutching at straws but we've had so much bad luck round here recently, surely a day has to come where we're the ones to benefit from an unexpected correction in the models, just a 20 miles correction will be enough tonight
Haha, yes virtually snowless (apart from the famous - march 18 event when even we had some 8inches of snow!) Although as we speak intensity is waining. Nice to see it falling under street lamp nonetheless.

Just started raining lightly here too. Been watching radar for a while and it says that it should be snow from much earlier but has been dry.

I'm at the marina in Torquay and its rain here. That's very close for you to see snow only 1.5 miles inland. Some people may end up getting a nice suprise.
Collaton st Mary area. Very marginal. Can now hear intermittent heavy rain/sleet on the window. Can see Totnes and west towards Dartmoor doing v well !

Can confirm light rain here now, edit now stopped. Wet covering of snow on ground 1-2cm max. Main band gone through here according to radar. Must of been the intensity? Not sure how much of a covering will be left when daylight breaks as can hear the drip, drip.

Showers been building right over us and moving north, north east all afternoon. One being around 4 this afternoon. A few large hail stones on the window, nothing more. yet friends in torquay and newton Abbott reporting full on heavy hail, thunder and lightning! Another heavy shower hit here about an hour and half ago.

Wow, i can't believe the difference. I drove back this morning with 8inches at home on the edge of Torbay. Worried i wouldn't get out of my road, the main roads where fine. As soon as i drove past the Ivybridge junction on the A38 it was like driving into spring, totally green. Now sat at my uni digs near derriford hospital would not know what all the fuss was about! Just a dusting here, can imagine what its like up there though as i normally take that route home if i want a scenic drive back! Truly epic couple of days at home though. A weekend that will live long in the memory.

Chucking it down here again on the edge of paignton/torbay. Just got back from a walk where it was very windy and the precip turned sleety for a while. Now back to proper snow !
Edit: measured 13cm on table out in the back garden before lunch. Must be more now.

Chucking it down here on the edge of paignton and laying on everything fast! Heaviest I’ve seen it here in my 25 years.

Still flashing and rumbling away. Almost two hours in. Heavy showery rain and as others have said T & L seems to be coming and going, building and moving off and then onto the next round ! Not that windy though
