Kansas is further away than you think from Denver! great road to drive on though especially if you get a bonus storm chase in!

Agree. Just watched a program on BBC 4 about extreme weather. They were talking about how on the 17th of January 1947 the temperature was 14°c with no sign of what was to come. 6 days later the snow started falling and it snowed somewhere in Britain every day for 8 weeks.
I'm not saying we're in for another 1947 but what is clear is that we still can't accurately predict nature beyond a few days. The models showed us this a couple of weeks ago.
would be nice though!

Are you talking about Lincoln or everywhere else in General. Lincoln has pretty much zero chance today but other areas are not working off Solar Input today more the destabilisation of the 850mb layer as the Theta engages overnight.
Who did you borrow that off>

Wed night
WRF 12 Z is an upgrade again.
North of Liverpool heavy snow now showing 18:00-03:00 and above 150 m it’s more like 15:00–03:00!
South of Liverpool things are delayed a bit heavy snow more like 2100–03:00.
thinking Bury > Rawtenstall > Bacup could be the sweet spot.
im just east of bury by 10 min drive and at higher altitude so hopefully.....fingers crossed!

Do I say it’s like this. If you’re on high ground above 150 m get excited now because you’re going to get battered. If you live below this but East of M6 get excited now because you’re going to get slightly battered Thursday – Friday then heavily battered.
West of M6 could get battered Wednesday night then it’s boring until Friday night then could get slightly battered.
if you live in the south, go and throw toys in the mad thread.
i love your forecasting techniques!

We've updated the radar with some new features today.
The future (predictive) radar has had a big upgrade - it now uses optical flow to predict the direction of the rainfall for improved accuracy. You can also include the predictive radar in animations by selecting it from the animations setting menu:
There is now also the option to switch on clickable map data - so clicking the map will bring up info about the precip in that location.
And also selectable from the overlay menu is an option to view rain gauge data - switching it on will select markers for the gauges, clicking one will show the recorded rainfall. At the moment this is England only, as it's using the Environment Agency API, we'll hopefully be able to plugin Wales and Scotland soon.
This new version of the radar will soon become the default radar in Netweather Extra, but in the meantime you can get to it here:
Brilliant little addition!
The new radar has been amazing during the stroms this summer, really good zoom and smoothing detail!
Bravo NW!
