Moderate snowfall here now, very dry icy snow however which is blowing around everywhere and tending to settle in corners as a result. If wet snow follows and sticks on top of it then it is going to cause some serious travel problems as that is like a rug on a polished floor, it also cuts your eyes to shreds when walking outside as I just found out going to the shops.

There's been some lightning here amongst this heavy rain over the last hour though it's not showing on the detector. -

Nothing on the detector but I could definitely hear thunder from that shower that blew through just now when I went to the shop.- 1,178 replies

That area to the north of me seems to have lost most of its electrification just in time to graze my area. Shame.. -

I think the atmosphere here is about to explode, there is already a large storm to the north of me, a large shower to my south west and there is some pretty serious convection going on. Plus it is very calm and sticky now with hardly any wind. -

They will be from the one on the image I posted on the last page, too far away to give our areas any fireworks I am afraid. -

Sure is warm here in that sunshine though there's some nice convection going on right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see a storm before the day is out. -
Why Do Some Feel It's Wrong To Like Severe Weather?
Tim B replied to Jane Louise's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
Because like most genuinely fun and exciting things such as racing and contact sports it involves danger and that danger can lead to injuries and fatalities, which of course makes it a magnet for the millions of joyless crybabies and attention seekers out there who write to TV / radio networks every day bleating on about nothing. "Moan moan moan moan moan moan" That's why in a nutshell. -

Can still hear distant rumbles from this: It turned really dark at one point and it looked like I was in for a good storm but little came of it in the end with just a few rumbles and big rain drops. -
