  1. From past events, it's always seemed to me that a NE'ly feed is what we need. I can't see that for a few days.
  2. I hope we get a load... much as I'm envious, just been sent some beautiful videos from Kent - 30cm level with half a metre drifts!
  3. Oh God. Did you have to mention that? The nightmare of the poorly-placed streamer! I can see the Teesside one forming now... Where's me noose!?!?!!
  4. OK... some positivity. The Meto has Durham down for a low of heavy showers throughout Sun night to Wed. We then get this for the Thurs-Sun forecast: A cold start to the period with strong easterly winds. Heavy and frequent snow showers are likely across northern and eastern areas, especially over northeastern England and eastern Scotland. Nevertheless, plenty of bright sunny weather is likely further south, although there is a small threat of persistent snow and rain across parts of southwest England on Thursday. As the period progresses, it will be remaining cold or very cold with brisk winds but potentially turning milder over southwestern then western areas for a time. Outbreaks of rain and showers are likely across western and northern areas, whilst mostly dry and bright in the east and southeast. Further snow and attendant wintry hazards continuing to affect northern areas but possibly becoming increasingly settled by the end of the period.
  5. All I did was correct someone's claim about conditions elsewhere and point out that we seem to be saying we never expected anything until tonight, when we'd actually been rubbishing the BBC for forecasting nothing until tonight. That's not negativity, just trying to be objective about what's being said. Is that a bad wagon to be on?
  6. I'm afraid that's reverse cherry-picking from some on here. I've got reports - and pics - of 10-15cm already. As for people saying the meto/bbc never really had anything heavy down for us for today... seems like we've forgotten how we were all rubbishing the BBC as not knowing what it was talking about with its forecasts. Fair enough, we might have a cracking next few days, but there's a lot of rewriting of history in here of people making out we never expected anything until Sunday night anyway, when we clearly did.
  7. I remember those words from a Sunderland fan a few years ago as they were battling to stay in the Premier League...
  8. I'm a miserable, pessimistic bstd. I admit that, made much, much worse by work stress. But when good stuff comes, I jump in with both feet.
  9. Popped my head out after dinner, hoping it would have turned... Nope. The N Sea is where it's at for us, clearly. But no one's telling me this evening hasn't failed to give what the models and even the radar were showing, even if we might now be able to see the reasons why.
  10. Not much good if it's still blue in reality! lol Anyway, not worth it now as if it does turn, the ppn is drying up. Was hoping this would lay a base before the showers in coming days. Looks like that won't happen. All eyes on the N Sea.
  11. Fingers crossed, but I'm sure most models had this as much more wintry by now than it actually is. I'm willing it to turn, but having stood outside for 5 mins watching the security light, it really is just rain.
  12. Aye. Sorry. It's hard to put into words how low and totally burnt out I am generally right now. I've literally just stopped working, having started at 9am. After a ridiculously stressful week too.
  13. That's simply not true. GFS has been showing snow across the region (E) at this time for days now. Also: yeah, I've had negative posts (guess what - I've had a sh.tty week and sometimes it comes out that way), but that wasn't one of them.
  14. OK, but the GFS has - including in the 12z had snow from 4pm here. And the radar in a now-cast says Yes/sleet. Just a bit weird there's bugger all! :D
  15. Eh? Not upset. Just reporting what conditions are like. Where do you read upset in that post? GFS and others had snow for several hours now. Hence: underwhelming. No need for that dig.
  16. Looks like much less snow for us (and others) on the 12z from Wed onwards that has been forecast - we don't get the front reaching us later in the week. What is ramped up is the cold under clear skies. Next Sunday night has -10°Cs across much of the region.
