  1. Really? I'm in Gilesgate and it hasn't been more than light snow for hours. The radar doesn't suggest it's any more in Langley Park than here, a few miles away.
  2. Anyone any thoughts on today/tomorrow? GFS06z leaves everything up to Teeside, but missing the north of the region entirely. Could be incredibly frustrating. Sheffield will be buried! Is there any hope?
  3. 12z is poor - keeps it all further south than it had been. Teeside might be OK. Rest of us missing out to a large extent.
  4. Absolutely! This is 1 April 2013. Near Langdon Beck/the ski centre up there. After this I came back to Durham where it was 10°C and planted my broad beans!
  5. Agree with that. You can always tell we've missed out on proper heavy snow, because people start reporting heavy snow and blizzards and whiteouts when it's no more than moderate snow with a moderate breeze.
  6. It really has been a frustrating period. Better to miss out by 200 miles that to be so close so often in so few days.
  7. They need to penetrate a long way inland for me. The top of the NYM always does for us when it's from the SE. I just want to hit -10°C. Currently -9.8°C.
  8. -9.1°C. I've just spent 5 minutes sorting out the car battery charger. Thin jumper and slip on shoes. I'm bloody freezing!
  9. Clearly this is the point when everyone should go to williamhill.com and put their life savings on it scraping 100yds north of Gilesgate Moor...
  10. I keep being sent bloody videos and pics of it all piling up by friends and family down there! I keep trying to reply by turning the focus onto Altnaharra...
  11. Opposite ends of the UK currently the places to be - Altnaharra is at almost -18°C, with a PWS in Kinbrace at -20.5°C!!! Kent getting another load - currently places are at 30-35cm. With about 15-20cm to come, so over half a metre by the end of the night. Annoys me no end that the SE can end up with more snow than most of us got in 2010! But, anyway... 2 amazing extremes.
  12. Can anyone tell me (again, this is a genuine question) what it is about the air mass/air flow that means this sort of organised shower system is currently barrelling in and towards Kent, where they are looking at another 20cm overnight, whereas here we haven't had anything like this?
