  1. Snow quite heavy up here 8/10 - good covering already. This seems to have come further south than expected. 0.6c
  2. 0.0c and continuous snow, seems like we have about 2cm now after a small thaw mid-afternoon.
  3. Never got above -0.9c here today. Has since dropped to -3.3c but now up at a balmy -2.7c. Coldest since December 2010. Looking forward to possible flurries in the morning.
  4. -0.9c here. Still a fine drizzle here, no sign of white on the ground, but it looks slick.
  5. -0.6c here and just driven through some very dense patches of fog. Something falling, a very fine freezing drizzle. No flakes, but need to have the windscreen wipers on. As others have said, if it gets much colder, then we could see a lot of ice later tonight.
  6. We are now at -3.7c. Now got a trip to Sheffield where it will probably be 7c or 8c.
  7. ANother 0.8c in 50 mins, now down at -2.5c. Could be the coldest night of the year.
  8. definitely going to be a cold one tonight, clear and pink at sunset, already -0.7c and dropping like a stone.
  9. Sleet and snow again! 3 days on the trot. Temp now 2.4c. It has been a better than expected cold spell for us
  10. Sleet here, just been out for a snowball fight. 2.4c and dropping now. Think we will get an icy mess tomorrow
  11. Still blowing a gale up here, 0.5c and still snowing quite hard.
  12. Sevenoaks to Halstead took 50 minutes. Star hill road is blocked due to a stuck bus and Polhill is really tricky, probably 5cm up here but very slippery stuff. If this turns to ice tonight, then roads will be impossible
  13. Now down to 4.7c here, pace of temperature drop seems to be quickening. No signs of sleet or snow yet.
  14. My temperature gauge has reached its peak for the day. Got to 6.0c, now falling away. Hopeful to get some lying snow.
  15. I am leaving Friday. It really has been wall to wall sunshine, which has its place after a good dump. Hope you get some good snow next week,
  16. Yes. Slopes look well groomed down 1500m but there is no snow on the roads, and bare patches all over the mountains. I'm afraid we are in for a warm and sunny week. Pistes up high are in good condition, but down Low they are suffering. Today have had to stop early as I fell due to sticky snow and overcrowding, it seems around bellecotte that quite a few pistes are closed and therefore the open ones are very full. Next week they are expecting snow from Tuesday, but it may take a day or two to improve things.
  17. I am heading to La Plagne on 23rd December, so even closer. Admit that it looks bad, although I understand that there is plenty of artificial snow down to 1850, although it really is not the same as the real thing. From the model output this evening, there is a glimmer of hope. I am driving down on 22nd, and was hoping to be battling snow, fog, frost, but it may just be a bit chilly and grey. Nothing we can do, and on the bright side I don't have to wash up, play charades or fall asleep in front of the Queens speech.
  18. Snowing here, mostly wet but settling on garden table. Temp is 2.7c. Taking the kids on a fun run....they may go back to bed when they look outside
  19. 3.1c here, starting to look a bit sleety, but it's quite heavy and no sign of snow.
  20. Looks like rain here, but not that heavy. Temp now is 3.8c with DP at 3.0c. Not sure it's worth staying up for.....
