  6. One of the most photogenic storms of recent times tracked across East London around 7 tonight. I was just south of the river so had a great view and stayed dry! Dropping a tonne of cloud to ground strikes and amazing cloud structure. Given it’s location I’m surprised more havnt been on here to report it. Unexpected!

  11. Bexley storm beginning to move on now but drive is under water from 10min or so of very heavy/torrential rain. Couldnt tell you the last time I saw rain here
  12. Yes sorry we have a lovely storm here in Bexley right now. Heavy rain, frequent lightning. Its bubbled up out of nowhere within 30mins so anyone concerned about development I would say keep the faith Swap heavy rain for torrential now!
  13. Blue sky to heavy grey in minutes here. Bubbled up from nowhere and as I type we have first thunder
  14. Yes we heard at least two of those here in the City of London. Nice to kick 2023 off especially when I wasnt expecting anything here
  15. I would assume too much light pollution in/around the city. I may have a drive into the sticks. Thanks
  16. With the BBC News website reporting places in Kent seeing the Northern Lights yesterday, and with repeated action possible tonight, any ideas as to a decent spot to view? I have seen photos from Herne Bay so may head to the north Kent coast assuming clear skies
  17. Can’t help but feel it was a case of so near yet so far tonight
  18. I commented last night how loud one particular gunshot was. Turns out a house not half a mile from me was struck. Roof up in flames and a family in chaos this morning no doubt. Hope everyone involved is okay
  19. Some huge strikes around the Bexley area now. As loud a gunshot as I can remember
  20. Flashing and rumbling here in SE London. I’d given up hope tbh
  21. Ha yes same. 10m or so from a strike on a tree. Close enough to feel the ground discharge fizzle up one leg(!) and I can say my ears were the least of my worries
  22. Yup same. Should be in town but sat here in Bexley. Looking like about to lively here though
  23. Snowing big fat flakes here in South East London. I thought this was a Thursday event? Wasnt expecting anything today
